CHECK THIS FIRST, then, have you done the Edge juice or any other modification yet. IF SO did you read the instructions about pulling the fuse on ONSTAR. I did not read this about onstar the first time I installed my hypertech and because of the allison transmission and the computer mods the truck always thought it was spinning the wheels ABS light would come on AND I HAD TO cover my ears LOUD very fast IDIOT indicator sound (like I left my blinker on only faster) let me know Jay

21 and 60...I would hope 0-problems  .
Let me know when (if) that dura-jap-crap can bust the 300,000 - 400,000 + mark. j/k:D
Seeing how Isuzu is the #1 truck builder in the world, I'm not worried about it, as they must be doing something right. But I usually get rid of my trucks around 250K. I'll keep you posted though. ;)

That's what I do when im not sure about a product....blow 100K to find out :hammerhea J/K..all manufacturers have a glitch, the ride on the chevs is second to none, I been running them in alot harsher places than most of you and aside from replacing the front end components once a year..they last better than anything else...Dodges ride way to rough, fords are way to heavy in the front and sink quick . In the oilpatch trucks get beat hard and they take the beating well!

Hey Kilr... you have your bumpin' stereo in that thing yet??? I had a 1 Farad stiffening capacitor in front of my amplifier that had something go amok internally and that bitch howled for a long time while it cooked itself to death... could 'splain why the thing kept screaming after the key was shut off... once the cap killed itself the sound went away, the strereo still worked and everything... just lost the bene's of the cap...
Just a thought...

Ok I diddent read all 5 pages but my guess The anti-lock brake selonoid (sp)under the driver's seat. (On the underneith of the truck). There is a fuse you can remove to stop the noise. The brakes will still work. Just not the anti lock part.
Dont forget to let us know what it was when you find out.

Rio ,
This is in no way a slam on Jay,
Jay is HEAD AND SHOULDERS above anyone I have ever dealt with. I do have two problems
one with each car.
The vette has a bad stereo, which should be taken care of tommorrow and the truck did make that noise, and no-one can figure it out....
the thread did take the normal HB twist..... :D
I brought the truck problem here to see if anyone had any similiar problems, being that so many truckowners are here....

a catered life
12-30-2004, 04:48 AM
Ok after a half an hour and waiting for the tow the noise just stopped. I called the dealer and he had no idea of where to even start. Drove over to the dealer, DAMN that was a long line of cars and tow trucks(Never saw that at ford), so i left. hopefully the noise never comes back.
As far as the vette, Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll llllllllllllllllllllllll
the stereo, turn it up and it turns off. It acts as if all my CD's are scratched even the brand new ones just opened and played for the first time.
i should have Known moving to Cheby would cause headaches
looks like you looking for any reason to dog :argue: chevy :2purples: if you were so happy with ford why did you switch in the first place?

why push the ford when you still can drive the chevy.hope you didnt buy it from rydell cause it sound s like the turbo bearing is already seized up.common on the izuzu powered duramax.when you turned the truck of before it did this did it shake a little but not alot enough to REALLY notice it IF YOU WERENT PAYING CLOSE ATTENTIONjust might be the bearing in the turbo .check rydell if they put out a recall on it
ask for brian in service hes a friend of mine @ rydell chevrolet on devonshire.

What, can't step up into it or you can't see over the dash? I know the Ford is bigger than what you are used to with the GM, but that is no reason not to buy it. Just get a pillow to sit on and carry a little step stool to get in.

Luckly for them, I cant make it over there, Yvonne is having them disconnect the crap and dropping the truck back off. Back order on a new vehicle part, Obviously there is a problem and they are aware of this and should this fixed before they deliveryu the vehicle to the dealers and if they are already there, they should advise the dealer of such problems so they can remedy this prior to sales....

Well they both hav ethere pros and cons.
the ford is way bigger inside, more room that makes you alot happier. The ford has a very outdated interior and seats.....
the turning radius is poor. the view while driving is much better in the ford mirrors, front windows, side and rear, especially when trying to see other cars. The ford rides like a truck and you know it....
the chevy is like a luxury car inside, it has everything and is awesome to have as a daily driver. the interior amenities are incredible. it drives like a car compared to a truck, which is always nice daily and on long drives.
the interior is cramped and the back seat is like being in a car very small.
the field of vision is very poor all the way around and the mirrors suck.
It turns on a dime, like a car, not a truck. as far as towing , well my boat is so small, i could not answer that correctly. they both did great jobs..
i hope this helps

Did it have the Bose system in it!
Did they say this is a common failures on 05 systems?
Did they change part of stereo system from 04 to 05?
As a soon to be future owner it would be nice to know.
