I was bidding a remodel job in Phoenix this morning and found this old V-Drive for sale in front of someone's house. They want $1200 for the hull and trailer. Looks pretty cool, pretty flat hull, solid too.

With about $10,000 in work, you'd have a $7500 boat there. :mix:

I have that same boat 1964 Rebel, splash of a Carribean sitting at Jett Performance here in Phx, Originally built in Safford Az. That boat looks pretty clean but will not be a speed demon for sure. I have alot of parts for that boat if you get it. Matt

Definitely early 60's Carribean or splash thereof.
Looks kinda like my old '60 Biesemeyer hydro.
Most of you have seen it, but if you haven't.....

Geez, I called the guy. He wants $4000 for it. But he does a have a fresh 440 Chrysler "with all the good stuff" that goes with it. He called it a 440 Hemi. I wonder what it really is.

I think buy the looks of the thing and where it is sitting people might be taking stuff off of while it sits there. I don't think it's probably sat there long since I didn't see it on my initial trip to inspect the remodel job before christmas. I think the motor has been out for a while though by the looks of the interior.

In 1960 when that boat came out, it was a Caribbean, by Rusty Biesmeyer and sold through Campbell Hollywood Plastics.
I just got a scanner so I'll try to scan a few old adds of this boat and Rustys boats and post them later tonight.
Cool boat by the way. I've always like that hull.

Sorry to bring an old thread back to life, but . . .
I just got off of the phone to a guy that was involved with Rusty in a project of his. Rusty took an old caribbean, tore the bottom up and made a bottom that would be better for circle racing. Then kept pretty much the upper lines of the caribbean, and made a mold off of it. Sold a few, (I think he said 21.) Many of the tops were not capped to the boat, but had the rubber trim along the outside of the seam. He is checking tomorrow if the molds are still in the old shop, owned by one of the partners. It was called a "Pleasure Craft".
Unfortunately, there are no pictures on this thread left. If anyone has pictures of the boat that you were speaking of, I would LOVE to see them.
