Drudge has the toll at 400,000+ as hundreds of islands are showing 0 life and many have disappeared. :frown:

Here is a link to the bbc reporters reports that are on the ground in Asia. Much more graphic and enlightening than the watered down crap we get on american tv news.

Oh did I mention I think american news coverage is a joke?

I am with you on that last quote! We've been watching CCTV (China TV) on Dish-network while searching for details and get great coverage and real footage with limited face time. We even see the actual footage in Iraq, as our son in law in there for our sake.
As my right-wing buddy quotes: "Leave it to the communists to give us quality news without the 30 min. of self advertisement per hour”.
So tragic and getting worse by the day.

The sad part is it's much more catastrophic than american tv protrays. Thousands upon thousands of people dead, thousands more injured, familys wiped out, villages wiped out, whole islands wiped out, and people needing help they haven't even been able to reach yet because there's so much damage to the roads, etc. and local governments that have marginal resources to even begin to deal with something of this scale. And over a huge area of 11 or 12 countries. :(

I saw that some are estimating there could be as much as 400,000 dead.
