Up here in we just get them rattle cans at the John Deere shop. They call it slip plate. Works good

If you have not figured it out, what the guys are trying to say is that it is pretty simple to apply.
We just cleaned the surface & sprayed. It pretty much dries as soon as it hits the surface.

clean it with acetone being that is the thinner you would use and great for clen-up.

Chris, you can order it from Rex Marine, the owner of which is this boards moderator. Buy a quart and mix it well since the graphite is usually at the bottom of the can. I have sprayed it with poor results since it dries instamediately! Another way is to use the small diameter paint roller and roll on a small area at a time. Have a helper stir the can and pour it on while spreading with the roller. One quart will do two coats unless you are sloppy and slow. You can also coat strut and cav plate. :rollside: Maybe Mike has a better way.........

I have allways had better luck spraying on a harder finish then color sand in one direction (frot to rear) with 800 wet or dry paper. It lasts much longer and does not leave your trailer messy. And it is faster than the graphite products.

So is speed coating worth the effort or is it just a way to cover that unpainted area where the hull sits on the paint dolly?

I've seen a few TAF boats apply it and then strip it right off. You make the call.
