I think the prop is not all the way on. None of the threads are sticking out of the nut. Even if it is were all the way on, it looks to be about 3 inches back. My guess is that it was moved back to get the boat to lay down beacuse the plate is too long for only 600hp. I had an old stepped deck Biesemeyer like that with a 426 Hemi and 22 gears I used to turn 6800, and it would not lay down until it got to 90, (Which was just about the limit). It had a 10 inch plate on it just like that one. Finally, I cut it down, problem fixed.

Looks clean. Couldn't replace it for that now-a-days. Gotta love how the 100 mph mark seems to always be the # people mention. In my opinion the only way this boat would run those #'s is behind a new FORD truck. :rollside:

Don't you know... ebay add 25% to the selling price and 30 mph....
:)
Why would you build a 13 to 1 cr 350, tripple valve springs, thunnel ram, yadda yadda... Why don't you just build a 500+ HP big block.... it will be cheaper.
And you can run pump gas.

for 10k that is cheap entry to the B Boat world. If you were to build that boat bare hull it would costs 25-30k.
The rigging looks trick. If you were to have a new stacked gas tank made, that alone would cost 2500.
Nice Boat and price.

Has this question been asked before?
For those of us who don't live in the B Boat world:
How many different hull designs did Rusty Biesemeyer make for Arizona Ski Boats?
I do not refer to B boat clones but actual Biesemeyers.

Only a Third Level Master Biesemeyer Brethern may know that. OK, maybe somebody here knows a Truit, or a Julian, or a Ray Brown can answer that. I'll go out on a limb and say there were three different tops on the old 2 strake bottom. I don't know how much Rusty had to do with the Bezer. From what I remember Ray telling me in the '80s, it was him and Julian that did the little boat. As far as clones, that's kind of a gray area also. According to Truit, Rusty build the bottom mold for Nicks' Barron Sprint and Nick hastley threw together a top for it, which is why the cap is a little off. In the late '70s, Bob Long at Sundown Marine in Huntington Beach CA said he had the original mold for the Biesemeyer but not the rights for the name, so he sold them as Daytonas. Any other old timers like me, please add or modify to this.

hey lee ss13 what do u mean by the cap on the barron sprint is a little off? u mean in looks or what? thanks
When the Sprints came out in the '70s I noticed that the cap had a very tight radius and the line from front to back was not very smooth. I was involved with Ski Racing back then and the 18' Circle Boat was the ticket until the Turbo Charged 21' v-bottoms came to be. I had a Spitfire bare hull and was looking for hardware when I met up with Truit Beal who worked at Gale Banks and frequented Bernies Boat Works. When I met up with Truit again in 2000 I asked him about the Sprint cap. He said Rusty sent the mold to Nick who had a deck made ready for it but since they were made in two different locations they were not a perfect match. nick was in a hurry to get a piece of the Cirle Boat and Ski Racing market and went ahead with the product. About that time, the late great John McCray (sp) built the most beautiful Sprint I ever saw. He took the bottom part of the Sprint and cut the freeboard down 3 inches. He then worked the top to have bigger radius for the cap. He had it for sale Stage III ready to go for 5 or 6K. During the '70s and the '80s, most of the first owners of the Sprints that I have met, had the caps redone. Either way, the Sprint had a reputation for having a faster bottom than the B-Boats of that time and held many Kilo records.
Now ... because this info is in third person and given my advanced years, and many medications, and also because I like to ramble on, there is no guarantee as to the accuracy of it. Thank you for listening.

Congratulations,

Bill, for your information I still own my Hallett and it's been over a year! That's 11 mos more than Mousers last boat ownership. "no offense there Mouser". I always wanted a circle boat ever since I saw Billy's last time you and I were at Needles 4 years ago. Here's my chance. I already see myself ripping the seat out before I transport it though. I'm told it belonged to Beals at one time and he purchased it from them. I would like some history on the boat if any one has any. Sorry Lakes only, every damn circle boat I've found has a price tag a little higher than I was looking for and along came this one for a reasonable price "in my opinion" so I snatched it up.

lol, I was thinking the same thing. Have to ditch that in some dumpster to save face for the tow home. You should keep a nasty small block in it and run the Parker 300. You would get a big time start adavantage with 350 cid.
Oh wait, scratch that and run a blown alky engine so you has to start behind us. lol
Congrats on picking up a cool boat.

I was looking at it like this: Chevy small block stuff is always selling big time...I was thinking rip that small block outta there and sell it piece-by-piece on ebay (pistons or rotating assy, block, heads, tunnel ram, mag, marine parts, etc.) and you could have a nicely rigged Bezer COMPLETE LESS ENGINE FOR $7500 or so...possibly less if you played your cards right.
86ing the seat is a no brainer. :220v:
I grew up inspired by B-Sedan race cars like the 1968-1973 Datsun 510 and was really into corners, raced shifter karts, etc. When I saw the circle boats at the Nitro Nationals, I couldn't help but imagine how much fun hard cornering in a boat must be.
Hey PSI Canyon, no worries on the snatching it up; I have plenty of projects on my plate as it is. I just thought this 500 inch all-aluminum engine I have would work well in the corners, and that I could put another engine build I have in the hydro...but alas, my mistake was not bumping "Buy It Now" off the auction (by way of meeting the reserve). No big and as I said, congrats!

The Step in the Side and the recessed area around the edge of the Deck looks more like a Spitfire to me.
The Hardware looks pretty "Bolton" too................
