I`m looking to purchase a shop press for bearings and the like. What tonnage should I be looking at? What brand? How much? Thanks.

It's not the tonnage..it's more about features...like adjustablilty and wider frame seperation is what you get with the more expensive ones. Kinda depends on how much you use the thing.

Thanks. I looked at those last night. I deffinately need an adjustable bed. HF has one for 800 thats hydraulic and fully adjustable. But 200 sounds a hell of alot better right now with my daily spending of 4g.

Art,
That's the same one I have. Works great. I hate to buy import tools but the same unit, American made (Dake), although better made, is around $800! :frown: I improved the HF unit and made a nice table and shimmed the play out of it, so I guess it's now an import with American improvments...

Bought basically the same. It is a Carolina unit. Which means Harbor Freight painted red. Got another oil drum, another motor hanger and a 2 stage trani jack for 700. No tax.
