What is the easiest way to tell what kind of Jacuzzi pump I have? What kind do I want? If any? 4 blade impeller, has the flap for reverse/forward. Another cable goes to a nozzle just inside the end of the pump and that nozzle rotates up and down only a few degrees(maybe 10 degree swing). Thanks for your time. The cable is frozen so the nozzle isn't functional but such a small degree of swing(with the cable off) I can't imagagine it does much.

if you have an outside inspection cover and if the pump is really long prob the golden eagle.as far as selling it honestly i think you can get more at the recycling bin if it is the golden eagle.not much demand as people prefer the berklys, dominators, etc.

You should post some pix of this. What your saying doesn't make sense.
Does the steering assembly attach with 4 big 'ol bolts to the bowl? If so you have the WJ. Otherwise you have a YJ or Golden eagle.
This inside nozzle thing.. I can't picture what you are saying. And another oddity.. It looks like.. Looking over some drawings, shuffle shuffle shuffle.. You should have a 5 vane impeller. Not a 4 vane.
bizzarre!

Punthouse, here's a link to the Nomera site. they have links to drawings for the 12WJ and 12 YJ pumps. I think it will answer your question. http://www.marinejet.com/marine.html
Jim, you've been a bad, bad jet boy! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/wink.gif I saw your post in the V-drive forum. I almost bought an Aqua Craft v-drive in the late 70's from a guy in San Jose. Long drive to see a total wreck!

Im think im gonna make up some stickers that say "Jacuzzi Jet Boat Pumps, The Drag Racers Choice" just so I can listen to people bitch and moan. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif The pump is probably a WJ, I think they had a cable operated trim option that really didnt do much. The YJ and Golden Eagle had adjustable trim also. On the top rear of the pump there is a plate with w/ 6 allen bolts holdin it in place. There is a small set screw on this plate also, loosen the set screw and turn the big screw at the back of the plate and that is the adjustment of the YJ, that still doesnt do much. There should be a plate on the front of the pump by the bearing retainer that has the model # also. A small % of this is probably true, but atleast I gave it a shot http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif Good luck.

I'm not jet guru be here goes.
Look for the serial # plate. It'll what type of pump it is. It should say something like YJ/B or WJ/A. YJ being the type A being the impeller cut. The plate should be just in front of the inspection cover. OR....
Look at the end of the pump at the reverse gate. If the end of it is shaped kinda round, like a disk (sort of), thats a YJ.
I know the YJ and the Golden Eagle are closely related, but I can't tell you the difference.
