I remember this crash, it happened right outside of Black Meadow Landing.....
I simply CANNOT BELIEVE that this guy only gets 3 years PROBABTION for KILLING 2 PEOPLE!!!
I read this in the newpaper today.........
"A Corona man faces three years' probation after pleading no contest Tuesday to boating under the influence in a head-on crash on Lake Havasu that killed a Simi Valley man and his son.
Robert Padilla is scheduled to be sentenced July 18 in San Bernardino County Superior Court, where he entered the plea, prosecutor David Varman said.
Authorities said Padilla was drunk on June 16, 2004, when his speedboat hit a catamaran carrying Steven Patchett and 10-year-old son, Tyler, killing them. Another son, Stephan, now 20, was critically injured.
Sheila Patchett - who was on a family outing with
her ex-husband, their sons and daughter Kalen when the tragedy happened - said she was surprised at the plea. "It's better than getting a not guilty," she said. "It doesn't change the fact that they're both gone.
