I've been mig welding for about 4 yrs now and want to jump up to a tig welder, but don't know enough about them to make an educated decision. It will be light fab work on 3/16 aluminum and 1/4 steel plate at the thickest. My budget is only $2000. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Miller makes a real nice welder. They have new ones out that are super compact. Just go to your local prax air and talk with the guys there they will guide you on the newest stuff.

I would go onto www.Race-Dezert.com (http://www.Race-Dezert.com ) or www.DezertRangers.com (http://www.DezertRangers.com) forums as those guys might be able to give a little more insight.
