what type of ignition and how are u changing the events---doesn't sound right---have you phased the distributor?----normaly run 34 deg total with 18# boost

phasing is making sure the rotor is firing the intended plug---(more of a problem with crank triggers)----but can happen with regular distributors and mags also----the spark can sometimes jump to the terminal in front of or behind the intended wire contact----this is why you see the big caps on later style high voltage distributors and mags----again, what is your set up and how are you changing the events?

the motors forged, weisco blower pistons, 383, blower cam. its in a truck. im going to get the msd digital timing device. it works with a laptop to make a timing curve. then i can pull as much as needed.

Good, I had cast pistons in my old motor , 454 w/BM177 , the cast piston skirts broke off and it sounded like Detonation rattle . but they were cracked due to me trying to wing the crap out of the Motor :D

Why mess with advance curves....lock the timing in and be done with it... ;) You'll be surprised how well the motor runs with this done...... :supp:
