If you guys ever get together on Canyon I would be attendance for that one. Its not far from where I live, as long as its not held on Holiday weekends because I travel to another lake to spend those weekends. Where is Medina spring? I am not sure where that is.
Thanks Jared

canyon is a great place---the parks got wiped out with the big floods awhile back---don't know if all are open, you have to check with corps of engineers or someone who knows---medina is on the west side of san antonio out past the seaworld area-----good lake, less wave action from boats unlike canyon----most have been meeting at a camp called "goat hill"----the owners like the hot boat folks and it's a good place to meet----hope to do some cruisin at both places since I got a different boat-----nothing fast, just a big daycruiser----great for lake cruising----waiting for a good day with no wind to take it out for the first time----got it around thanksgiving and haven't taken it out yet----maybe in a week or so if the winds give me half a chance ;)

Well I was down there in the First Part of November and the free Ramp that I normally launch at was closed due to the flooding. So I paid $5 and went to this boat ramp that was really nice, the ramp was great and the docks were in great shape. After I did some research about Medina it sounds like a great place. I have been to Canyon many of times and would look forward to going somewhere else and being on a new lake.
Congradulations on the new boat!!! I know what thats like, its sitting there waiting, patiently, and your thinking maybe I should go out for a little while. The fever just keeps naggin at you, but hey Summer is getting closer. Or catch a good day, the weather is going to be great here in about 5 days. Warming up. Etc.
Later Jared.

I'm also down for planning something this spring at either Medina or Canyon. I can always bring out the old Sleekcraft with the olds if the TX-19 isn't ready. Making good progress on the engine though so hope to be ready for test and tune in march :D
I saw Goathill at Medina mentioned. Just need to let everyone know that it is a day only park (no camping) unless we can get James and Judy from South Texas Jetters involved. They are good friends with the owners and Allow camping for the Jetters for thier events. The State Park is Near Goathill and is a pretty nice Park. Haven't scoped out Canyon yet but I understand there are Several nice RV and Camping places there. I'll try to do some reaserch and post up some options shortly.

From Leming it will probally take an hour to 1-1/2 to get to Goathill depending on traffic. I live in Floresville which is only 20-30 min from Leming. How long is the job going to last in Leming. Maybe we can hook up and BS sometime :coffeycup

I haven't stayed at all the parks, but Potters Mill park on the north west side of Canyon was a real favorite-----nice facilitys for primative camping and R/V hookups also ;)

With out directly saying , there is ONLY one Major oilfield business in Leming, that is who I work for  I quit them in Alice,Tx.after 14yrs. to work for another company, they called me back and offered me a better deal up here, so I transferred permanently so to speak. I still live in Orange Grove,Tx... But they pay for my lodging here( in Pleasanton ) and expenses, I go home on my days off or whenever I get a chance , it is only 1hr or so depending on traffic to home.I got my Harley up here with me and soon as weather is better I may tour Floresville and look you up ?

Hey guys has anybody thought about maybe a get together at Marble Falls. The town is somewhat large enough that those of us that don't camp could find a motel to stay in. I know that I pass thru the town on my way to Jetfest and it looks great place to boat. I know fro past post on Medina not much there in the way of motel or place to eat. It looks like from most of the early posting there may be a few little boating events this year. I am about equal travel time between jetfest- Boatfest or anything out west. anyways hope to hook up with everyone sometime this spring and summer. Ain't nothing like a good time boating with good friends. TTUL Bill "cookieman" P.S. if it were not for Gopher a few years back at Powman's I would not have fell in love with those Pickleforks jets. I watched Gopher run his boat so much that year that I had to have one. Thanks Gopher

Dido on the Marble Falls. Like you said For those of us that don't camp and would like to stay in Motels. I would not mind camping but for those girlfriends and wives it might not be a bad idea. Always heard Marble Falls is an awsome lake.

All these plans and cool days make it tough to sit at a desk. Marble falls is a really tiny lake. It will take you about 5 minutes to go from one end to another at about 40mph, it is nice, has a good size canyon near the dam, but it is small. Upper end has some really big granite boulders under water that you would not like to hit. Meeting up at Medina and Canyon sound fun, I have never been to either. lake LBJ has some lodging on the lake but I do not know any details. It is one dam north of Lake Marble Falls and probably 25 or so miles long. I would recommend Lake Travis on the upper 30 miles or so. Several different parks RV's welcome in some. Camping in others or both. It sucks down lake for those of us with low freeboards. I go all the time and just cruise to vacant coves and smooth water up river on the Colorado and Pedernales arms. There is even a free ramp on Travis about 20 minutes from Marble Falls. Probably the only one on the lake. The area is called the Narrows and used to be the hot spot for lake rods. Nearest town to that is called Spicewood. When the days warm up, if anyones interested in Travis, lets hook up.

Hey R.A.D. man,
I don't know much about any other lake, other then Travis, and Canyon. I just got my GPS and actually I spent all day "today" out on Lake Canyon testing and, well sipping some drinks ;) . Its an ok lake, and there is a little party cove that some get together and hang out at 'During the Summer'. I don't hook up with anyone because I don't know or hang out with them. 'Of course today was dead'. If you are interested, This coming weekend is going to be in the 70's. During the day. So my brother and I were thinking, "I mean Planning" about hitting up Lake Travis. I have a good buddy, and his Grandfather owns a marine shop in Lago Vista and I thought that maybe they would let us into the the local boat ramp. If not I hope you would not mind letting me know where this free ramp is and if a 20' I/O can launch there? If I can get to Lago we will be close "like 5 minutes from the Colorodo, and Pedernales River, where they meet. I was there all Summer. If you happen to be out I can give you my cell # and we can meet up and run up river or something. 'That was our plan'. If not maybe at some later point we can hook up. We have already started the season, March will be a year since I have had my boat and let me tell you it's a learning experience. I hope to get a good season and plan on meeting some of you guys on HOT BOAT. Let me know what you think, either write back of PM, me by the end of the week.
Thanks Jared.

Hey Liberator.
Let me tell ya, It's almost worth the drive just to meet the one and only RED NECK TREE PLANTER (Shark in the Pond) He is one FOKKER that is a blast to be around. Between him and Ratso you better to be able to party like a rockstar to stay up with them :D
I'm not even in their league.

Jared, I probably can't make a run this weekend but I will keep it in mind and touch base later in the week on that. The ramp at the Narrows would be fine for your boat. Only when the lake is about 20-ft down, is it a concern due to a rather abrupt drop off at the end. The lake if full now. FYI, There is no dock and no night lighting at that ramp. There is another ramp closer for your travels at the Pedernales River. Charges are per vecicle about 7-8 bucks and that ramp has a nice dock and good lighting. I'd be happy to help you find these places but it would be easier to discuss. I can be reached at 512-797-4242.

Hey Randy,
I will keep you ## around so maybe one day We both happen to be at Travis we can meet up and talk a while or something. Well I am interested in the ramp up on the Pedernales for summer days when we don't feel like launching at the state park by mansfield damn. It gets rough in those parts. That is normally where we put in, its cheap, nice ramp, lights, dock etc. Well maybe next time.
Thanks Jared.
