OMG ... I met John in the '70s. He ran an engine in reverse so you could run off the flywheel. He built, (not for racing), one of the most bueatiful Barron Sprint that was cut down about 4" with a custom cap I have ever seen. I think he had a shop in Baldwin Park CA then. So sorry to hear.

Does anyone know what happened to John?. He wasn't that old and the older I get  the younger the age seems to be of the guys you knew back then that are passing on.

So sad! Anyone know if at one time he was the driver / owner of the
"DYN-O-MYTE" yellow K boat in the 70's?

Having spent most of my life in a machine shop, I can not over emphasize
how dangerous machines can be! They can hurt or KILL IN A HEARTBEAT
and not give a CHIT!
Allways remember that!
Those of us in the buisness all know sombody missing fingers or other parts.
Sorry for sounding so heavy,But sadly this is not the first time or the last time
that somthing like this has happened.
I did not know JOHN but it still touch's me just the same.
My heart felt condolences to the family.
