So I went to Blockbusters tonight to rent a movie. As I was walking along the wall of new videos, I notice F 9/11. It wasn't hard to miss. It took up half of one of the sections. They had 119 of them on the wall. As many as Spiderman 2. Isn't that a little excessive?
By the way I checked out Anchorman.

Go figure.... :yuk:
Any one see the Farenhype 9.... what ever it was? Or do they not have it?

Reguardless of your views on the content, the movie IS up for best picture. Blockbuster is a business, and I'm sure the decision to have 119 copys is strictly business.

About 90 percent of them were in. If it were strictly a money make, they'd all be out. Not sitting on the shelf.

Best picture of what? Bullshit propaganda maybe!!!!!
I guess the next thing you are going to tell me is that it was a documentary!
Yea, that's what I do with my business, stock a shit pile of stuff that doesn't sell. :hammerhea

I think we'd both agree that is is full of biases and iffy assertions. I personally dont like Moore, he just happens to fall on the same side of the isle that I do. I also think that a film like this can hurt more that help what I believe to be important to the country, because of it not being TOTALLY credible. I look elsewhere for that.
On thing that cannot be argued is that it is a documentry (albiet a possibly weak one), and that it has won Best Picture (People's Choice, amoung others) and will probably be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars.
Cheers

Good luck on that, words to watch for would be: commie bastard, unamerican, liberal ****er, and so on. You should set up a score card and mark everytime they call you one or more of those names.

I'll do that. And I think I should give a prize to whoever calls me the most original, colorful name.
I know, how about my new Victor Ram, dual 650s and all the hardware, including linkage for the low low price of just $600. (Is that shameless or what?)

After I walked into a HollyWood video store a couple of months ago and saw the Michal Moore display (both F/911 & Bowling for Columbine) with the "guaranteed in Stock" sign I decided to boycott the store. I use Net Flix now and would never go back. I suggest doing the same for Block Buster.

Feel good pinko liberals like to encourage a little healthy dialogue since they have no values or morals to stand up for.
(Just priming ya for whats to come :hammer2: )
Yup....all the film awards are given by "main stream" america and has very little liberal bias. :( Do we really care what awards these disgruntled commies give each other?
It has been a bit slow in here...nothing like a nubile closet socialist to pick up the pace. :D  :D

Glad I can be of some use... ;)
I'm NO socialist, though calling me that does not offend me. I am actually offended at the assurtion that I have no morals or values. I like to think that I stand up for REAL freedom, not just the freedom to do what you (or I) like and approve of.
You said 'Do we really care what awards these disgruntled commies give each other?', and I agree; who cares? But, it seems you all care what video stores choose to rent. My point from the beginning was simply that it is absurd to think that Blockbuster's decision to rent and prominetly display F-911 was based on its content and anything other than a business decision.

I agree with you on BlockBuster's decision being a business decision.
I was just jabbing you to innitiate you into this forum. Hey, dems, especially JFK era dems, are welcome to debate, but we trash the guys who are bitter angry socialists (there are not other kind) who never cite facts, fall on emotion "feel good" government vs. logic and reason, try to advance "conspiracies", and etc.
Welcome to the jungle!
BTW - watch out for Blown...he is a angry shut-in paranoid conspiracy theorist who claims to be a "problem solver" and is registered republican. Do a search on threads started by this self proclaimed "ass clown" for a good idea of his contributions. Other than that, he likes Mopar - which almost outweighs all the previous. :)

Thanks Holy,
Your comment about "jfk" era dems reminds me a funny quote from "America:The Book" (The Daily Show Book, which is super super funny, and very not partisan). The book is presented in a high school text book format, which in itself is funny. In the chapter on presidents, there is a column listing the top 5 "most-Kennedy-like presidents:
5.(forgot, doesnt matter)
4.(forgot, doesnt matter)
3.(forgot, doesnt matter)
2. John F Kennedy
1. Bill Clinton
And while I am talking about this book, I'll point out my other favorite line"
"Did you Know? Most African American Slaves actually recived no college credit for their service."
Ahhh, That book cracks me up.

This year will finally illustrate how F-ed up the libs are. Fraudenhate 911 will probably be nominated for best picture, but what about "The Passion"?? If it's not made by an established studio or a well-known person from club lefty in Hollyweird, it won't get any run. I'm still cracking up at The Passion being described as "controversial". Once again, nothing scares liberals more than the thought that Earth was created by God, not the federal government. By the way, final numbers were:
911-$120 million
The Passion-$480 million
I guess we know who the American people picked as winner already.

Phil Hendrie has a parody of it called Farenheit 711.
Really really funny.
I believe all money collected for it is givin to his runaway kids charity: My friends Place.

I watched both Farenheit 9/11 and Farenhype 9/11. I like to get both sides of a story, and be armed with the knowledge to argue with victemcrats.

Hearing "both sides" is liberal democrat feel good crap and only serves those with no idea what they stand for or are not willing to stand up for what they beleive unless it will be accepted or sounds good.

No, I think hearing all sides of any issue is good practice. True, standing up reguardless in important too.
This is how I like to think I approach my political outlook. I like to look at what every side of an issue has to offer. I have voted democrat, I have voted republican. Both have strengths and weaknesses in the areas I consider important.

The first time I saw it on the shelf I was offended. Then I thought about it and realized that it was movie and people have the right to sell it or rent it.
SO I STAYED CALM AND WALKED UP AND TOLD THE CASHEIR THEY NEEDED TO PLACE IT IN THE FICTION SECTION......

people who want to take God out of the pledge of allegience
Athiest "rights"
gay "rights" (that will piss of Hanson)
negotiating with terrorists
multiculturalism
MIB running a secret government
People who think we are in the middle east because of greed for oil
Anything that has to do with the U.N.
"Moderates" <----- for pete's sake...stand up for something!
more gun laws (isn't murder already illegal?)
hate crime laws
more laws in general
Why it is o.k. to steal music
Global Warming
Any environmentalist issue
The French
any government official that never held a real job
how grocery workers have it "tuff"
unions
most anything backed by hollywood
Barbara streisand
Barbara boxer
anyone who thinks giving a handout is actually helping
affirmitive action
anyone who is disenfranchised
riddlin
prozak
anyone with hurt feelings
people who are scared to stand up to the enemy
people who think the U.S. is a bad country
people who think freeing people is none of our business
