Nope, those are feral hogs (domestics gone wild) there's a few along the river and you can hunt em if you can find em off the refuge. Javalinas are smaller and funnier looking. I have a javalina hunt in a month a little northeast of Havasu, they aren't very challenging to hunt with long range capable equip, but fun as hell with a bow or handgun, and regardless of what you hear, quite tasty when cooked right.

Where are you going hunting at? one of they guys at work just bought a ruger .480 and has it fit with a scope and I think he is talking about going out for some javalinas.

Hell, I trapped 11 hogs over the last week, on my farm. Damn things are a nucense (sp?). All they do is rut up pastures  I have declared war on the god forsaken things :angry2:

we just got back this weekend from a cull hunt on a friends ranch out of london Texas.
we harvested some whitetail, a sika, and couple of hogs.the hog i shot took a hit in the upper neck and was down for about 5 minutes so i figured it was done.just about the time i climbed down out of the stand it got up and i had to shoot it a second time, tuff animals and very destructive.
i had forgotten how beautiful that part of Texas is. the blue mountains are beautiful. it was a really enjoyable weekend. got down to the low 20's at night but up to the high 50's in day time. i am ready to go back and take the scooters out and ride the back roads.

One of my employees has a weekend house on a small lake near Winnsboro. His neighbors go out twice a week to kill hogs. They can tear up acres of farmland in short order and are a real PITA.
They capped one on Saturday that weighed 430 lbs.
