Step 1. Location
It seems to me that most of us agree on Lake Anna for the first event....if someone disagrees please post your alternate location now or forever hold your peace.
Step 2. Facilities
I just got off the phone with the Anna Point Inn....spoke with the GM, Bill...who I met a few weeks back on a stay there. I explained what we would like to do.....take over his motel for 3-4 days in the middle of summer....have a Bar-B-Q, Music and of course a little beer drinking, his responce was very positive about having us.
Step 3. Date?
Step 4. Activities?

Good job FatRat, I'll know better on dates for me after I speek to the Prez. of the DVBRC. As I told ya earler I work the race's so I shuld be there....I just looked back, these were the dates from this PAST season. just to give ya an idea. June 10,...July8...Aug12...Sept.2...They usually fall on summer Holiday's. I'll get next seasons dates as soon as I can.

Hi Phillyray ...you can count me in and I will talk it up among the racers...this sounds like fun....8 years ago I organized a poker Run (one of the first of its kind ) From Alantic City to Baltimore. It was a blast....This sounds like even more fun!

You know I'm in. But as far as a place goes, all I know is what I found out when I called Lake Anna and I posted it. Nobody has mentioned a damn thing about Havre or any other place when it comes to lodging costs and availability, ramps, food, fuel etc, etc, etc. All I've heard is that Havre is fun. Ok, now enlighten us on the rest. We can't make a decision about a site without knowing about this place. So far, my vote is for Lake Anna. Jersey shore, not a chance in hell. My future vote for time frame: June

Hey H.O.D....HarveDeGrace never was dropped as a possible site, it is a GREAT SPOT for fun on the water, the lodging is not what Lake Anna has to offer,(no motels at the site). So after talking to FatRat,DimarcoKid,Nitro,ect. it seems that L.Anna would be a good 1'st starting place. I'am still working on and WILL send around a video tape of HarveDe Grace so members of this cool group can see what Harve is all about. Hey if anything it will be nice to see some COOL Boats, HOT Women, and some Race footage...When there's SNOW on the ground!

I used to be in the RealJetBoat chatroom every once and awhile. I really busy for awhile there and unable to check the posts. Im in for lake anna. I live in northern VA and go to lake anna alot in the summer. Infact im trying to make my last run of the year down there this weekend. Hay I got some friends that grow up on lake Anna down here in the FL Keys & thay say thats the place to have this!!! Thay are good friends Of mine & if thay say it cool to run there it must be!! I've got 3 people that when thay get back to Lake Anna thay get on this list to talk & help Get us going with Lake Anna. Out of the 3 people the smallest jet boat that thay have is 800hp. & thay don't run MUFFLERS on there boats at 6AM When thay D-side to ripp 1 off acros the lake LOL!!!

We need input on dates and events.....I don't think we're going to get away with any sort of racing, but if any of you guy's got that need I think the Delaware Valley Drag Boat Guy's can help you out, I hear they do 4 race's a year....maybe they should post there web site here with us and we can give each other a little support.

Update on my ride, went out for a sea trial today and things are looking good. The alternator seems to be on the blink but the oil leak seems to be gone and the water leaks are minimal, the new bilge pump works great. Performance wise acceleration is awesome, saw 80 on the speedo and still plenty of pedal left to go.
Trying to come up with some input for our party but so far I have none. HOD...I know what ya mean about the weather, last Sat. we were sweating out on the river,now a cold front's moveing through. We have been out there when the water would numb the legs, (November) but I'll tell ya these guys from the DVBRC are tough as nails, and they still have a good time. There's a big motor guy towin his boat down from Connecticut this Sat. think its already snowing up there! Let's see what the weather brings...If I can make a snow ball...I DON'T BOAT!

So whats the dates on this big event....better start planning.....If you guys are going to do any racing you better get permits...they will shut the event down with out them if you get caught. Also if someone crashes and gets hurt or worse yet hurts someone....remember the Lawyers....they will sue whoever organizes this event.....look into insurance for a weekend event. The insurance is reasonable and will protect those of you who are running this!

Fat Rat, are you referring to the 15th and 16th of June next year? That is the weekend that they have the bluegrass festival on the lake at the state park campground and at another place. Would be kinda cool though.
Pros:
Plenty of people to show in front of.
Something to do during the day other than burn.
Cons:
Limited availibility or rooms unless we book early
Plenty of people crowding the lake, therefor the boat patrol might get kinda pissed if we are goofing off and might not be as tolerant.
Those are just a couple. That would be a great weekend to go.
