Looks like more changes with respect to the Bridgewater Channel coming this season...stay tuned...!!
PARKER - After setting its priorities for 2005 on Monday, the Lake Havasu City Council and city staff got down to specific measures Tuesday during the final day of its annual retreat.
Among the items discussed were the necessity of a clean, accessible lake and the carbon monoxide problem and behavior control in Bridgewater Channel, controlling city development, a master plan for the city's parks, a destination resort, English Village development, consistent quality air service at a reasonable cost, impact fees for future infrastructure and creating an attractive image for visitors entering the city and throughout the town.
Vice Mayor Don Clark continued to press for changes in the Channel, particularly on busy weekends.
"It's still out of control," Clark said. "In relation to the CO issue, we gave (Police) Chief John Alexander permission to shut it down when necessary."
Clark suggested restricting traffic to one direction in the Channel. He also said lewd behavior continues to be a problem.
"Would you spend Memorial Day with your family at the Channel?" he said.
"A boatload of troublemakers runs off four boats of families. And it is the families who will spend more money here."
Council member Kristin Lietz-Aldridge pointed out that a proposal to enforce one-way traffic was defeated by the Council last year. Clark said the city had more information on the matter now and that the vote may be different this time....

I'm glad the council is not stereotyping, and can realize the root of the trouble, as well as the source of the income.
