DogHouse

Those were taken at the top of the 10 lane at Lake Pleasant last Wed. I went out to do some testing with my 28 and found that monster just parked with noone around. Couldn't resist the photo op!

I remember when I first got my 21'. I was keeping up with the big boys. I now have the 27' and I am feeling pretty small myself, Specially compared to something like that.

Did they tell you not to wash your boat in hot water?

DogHouse
09-23-2002, 08:01 PM
Wash the boat, you guys really do that? Actually I was hoping it would grow if I keep watering it. Hasn't worked yet.
WW, yeah we're still searching for a new name. I call my little boy Minime sometimes since he looks so much like me. Poor kid. Maybe the name will stick for the boat too!
Donnie, it ran great all weekend at Powell, no more water in the oil, no more fuel delivery problems or blown head gaskets. Larry gave me a tip today to fix the remaining oil leak. I'll give it a try this Sat and be ready to rock for poker run weekend @Havasu.

That's Magic's 44' Cat! 12' Beam. Pretty sick heh?

DogHouse
09-25-2002, 07:21 AM
Uh, 'too big' would be my first thought... But hey, if you have the cash, what the heck!
Word has it they're scaling up the 28 into a 34 very soon, to be rigged with twins of course. That should be a real sweet ride.

Doghouse, your tow rig looks great as well, gas or diesel? and what size tires are you running?, the reason I ask is I have the same truck and need to put some better tires on it.
Thanks; chris

Thanks Chris. Those are 33x12.50x17 Pro Comp ATs on 17x8 Centerline Apaches, 4.5" backspace. Had to crank up the bars and do some trimming on the air dam. Still rubs the inner fender liner at full left lock so I need to do a bit more trimming & hacking. It's the 8.1/Alli combo, very nice but never ever leave sight of a gas station!

Thanks Doghouse, my truck also has the 8.1/Ali combo and I like it very much. I have BFG 285's on the stock 16" alloy wheels, torsion bars are at the stock setting and I also have rubbing at full lock. Thought about a 6" lift, but I don't want to effect the ride or towing capability. Didn't you have a Cheetah with a bad a$$ built engine last year?

Hey DogHouse, I saw a '02 Magic Cat w/ an HP500 for sale on boattraderonline in the Phoenix area. It has the exact same graphics. Is that yours for sale?

Ah come on, they're not *exactly* the same...
Ok, so maybe they're pretty damn close!
Nope, not my boat. I'm hoping to keep mine for a while longer before I wake up and realize that I really can't afford it. 15 yrs or so ought to do it! wink

I didn't realize your gel was so similar to the 44...that's pretty cool!! Your's did come out looking pretty damn awesome - nice job. Shouldn't be too hard to find you on the lake...especially now that it's about 1/4 the size it's supposed to be!!!

Your boat is awesome; I really like the Magic cats. How do you like it? How were the people at Magic to deal with? Are you happy with your boat (ride in chop, performance, etc…?) I spoke with you a while back right when you ordered the boat, I am really considering buying one maybe during the winter months, I just wanted to get any additional info from you. I did test drive one of these out at Havasu back in April. I was really impressed with the boat, but can’t really say the same for the sales rep that flaked on me… Fortunately, someone else was available to take me out for a hot lap.

ok, HOW do you launch that 44 footer. Looks cool, but i would think it needs to stay in the water! Trailering looks to be a kink.....how many people have simi trucks to tow their boats around?????

2. First boat nade so far and the owner owns a trucking company so he just had one of his beds converted into a trailer for the boat.
DogHouse... sweet ass pics. Thanks for posting that.
Someone else said you should get a poster made of that. That's a great idea!

LocoHey Loco,
I heard that he was building a trailer with hydraulics to tilt it on its side to avoid the "wide load" status. Have you seen any pics of it yet?

Haven't found anything yet that I don't like about it and it has lived up to my expectations so far. My sales rep (Jack) has been very helpful and good to work with, no complaints there either. Let us know what you end up with and post some pics!
