The reasoning behind it is that the brain cannot process the word "OF".
Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is a genius.
Three is normal, four is quite rare.

F's would be considered correct. It is acceptable to use 's for odd (unusual) plurals. I had a huge debate with an upper division writing professor at CSUF - and I won!! Well, actually, another professor got into the argument (The English dept head....dote!) who finished the debate for me - but I still claim victory.
