I think the requirement is that the numbers need to be placed in the forward third of the hull. They can be above or below the rub rail.

:cool: thanks for all the cool comments!! :cool: :cool: Welcome to the Family, The boat is sweet.I owned a 26 with the blue motor 525sc back in 1997 it had a delta pad and it run very well :cool: .I now own a 28 sportcat,Blue motor and it run good as well no drive drama and the year is a 1999 I will upgrade soon just trying to figure what boat to buy.Commander has been cool to me and I think I will look into a 32-36 with twin blue motors for my next ride and it will probably be a east coast company,Not to knock west coast because they have sweet boat company as well,Just want to see big blue water with no drama. :yuk:

"The AZ number is a set of numbers prefixed by the letters “AZ”, which the owner must paint or otherwise affix to the forward half of the boat on each side."
Based on the boat photo, looks like part of the "B" and all of the "H" are past the midpoint. Close enough for boat cops to pitch a bitch? Depends on their mood and behavior of those on the boat. Is it wise to attract attention to oneself in an atmosphere like ours? (Havasu).

As long as they are on the forward half of the boat...they don't have to be any further forward.
