View Full Version : It's TIME!!!!!! CBBB 05 REGISTRATION

ItÂ’s 2005 and time to get the word out about this yearÂ’s Classic Boat Beach Bash. The event will be held the weekend of August 13th (Friday the 12th- Monday the 15th) once again at the newly renovated Avi Hotel and Casino. A full itinerary will be posted on the eventÂ’s website at www.classicboatbeachbash.com (http://www.classicboatbeachbash.com), with additional updates and real time information found on the event message board at www.classicboatbeachbash.com/forums (http://www.classicboatbeachbash.com/forums).
Because there are always questions about how to sign up and register for your rooms, here is the run down on how to get setup for the event.
Step 1. Log onto www.classicboatbeachbash.com (http://www.classicboatbeachbash.com)and click on the “register” link on the left hand side of the page.
Step 2. Fill out the registration form and submit the information online.
Step 3. Call the Avi at 1-800-AVI-2WIN
Step 4. When you get an answer, tell them you would like to book a room with the Classic Boat Beach Bash group in August. Please refer to group code “CLASBB” to ensure that you are booked with the group. If for whatever reason, the individual who is assisting you has difficulty finding our booking, have them check with group sales.
**Special Note** For this year, we should be booked into the new wing overlooking the beach. If you only need a king size bed, you will get a room overlooking the beach. If you require a 2 queen bed room, you will still be in the same wing but on the other side of the hall with west facing windows. Be sure to specify the style of room you need so we can best utilize the booked rooms. There are 80 queen and 50 king bedrooms available so the sooner you book, the better your odds of landing what you want.
Step 5. Let them know how many days you would like. Friday and Saturday room rates are at a discounted $69/night, while Sunday evening is a super low $24/night. Because the rates went up this year, our continuation of the $69/night rate is actually a deeper discount than what we received last year. :)
Step 6. Get your confirmation number, be nice, say thank you, and start jonesing for August!
!!!While the registration deadline is still a couple months away, we always get some procrastinators that end up missing the deadline. In the past we have always been able to make it work at crunch time. But because of the increasing draw the get together is pulling we can't assume that will be the case this year. Bottom line, don't be that guy that puts off making a reservation until the last day; it doesn't cost a dime at the time a reservation is placed and it ensures you a spot for this year. As always, by having a large group register with the Avi EARLY we have more influence when it comes to requesting special accommodations etc!!! This will be especially important this year with their proposed improvements to the facilities which were one of the reasons we deicded to keep the event at the AVI!!!
If you have any additional questions, or problems related to reserving your room, feel free to post them up here or email us directly at cbbbadmin@classicboatbeachbash.com
Thanks,
Your CBBB Support Team ;)

Registered for our third CBBB. Can't wait.
It's a kid friendly event for the most part. I have 3 little ones aged 10, 9 and 7. They've had a great time for the last 2 years.
There are always a few Dumb****'s that can cause problems, but they are in the minority.

Just registered, and just like last year havn't even started working on the boat yet. But then again, last year it was a gutted hull and I'd never had it in the water. I guess I work best under pressure with a deadline ;) .
Still not sure which direction I want to go yet, better looking boat or more performance, my wallet said I can only do one.

Is that what happened? :D :D
I have been working on my game, bought 48 cannon shells on New Years Eve. They were about the size of a red bull can, shot from a launching tube.
These fookers were great, loud as hell when launched and the big burst at altitude. Some really great drunken hilarity......
The cops came by at 2:45 AM to say hello, I had just fired off the last one. :D :D
I'm gonna bring some to CBBB, you guys better bring 55 gallon drums to hide in....

Hey Jason, you gonna do that rattle can look? I have an idea, tow your boat hull down by the railroad yard and chain it to a pole for a week. Check on the hours that the Avi runs "Kids Quest". It's their inhouse babysitting, kid entertainment program. They have video games, feed em snacks etc. I know some of the parents use the service and said the price was really reasonable. I don't know how late the hotel offers that service, but I'd guess its into some hour of the night :)

Glad you got it worked out ;)
For other's reading, asside from the 6th month rule, you'll also want to make sure you mention the Classic Boat Beach bash to get your discount on the rooms. Their rates have gone up over the past couple of years, and the $69 room rate is a good deal.
Thanks,

The kids quest place they have there is a pretty good deal and let's us parents have a night off.
It seems to be very secure and safe for the kids. As I recall, they charged $5 per hour for each child. The only down side was that they closed at midnight, just when the real fun get's started.

Looks like a great party and like Freeboard Challenged it will be nice to be around more classic river boats and away froom the ocean going monstrosities that domminate the lake and river now. No offense to those that own the monstrosities.

I would say anything oldschool or anything that has evolved from oldschool. Any and all are welcome it's just that part of the river is friendlier to the smaller less drafted jets and vees. It's a good time though.

Just made reservations for two rooms, second floor one river front and one parking lot.
We had the first floor last year and liked it so much we requested it again this year. It was nice to walk down the hallway and open the door to see our truck. Plus, it made the potty a lot closer for partying in the parking lot.
Jeff has the new truckin' magazine and we are checkin' it out right now.

Took your advice and requested a bottom floor room also when I made the reservations. Plus the elevator was ssslllllloooooooooooooooowwwwww.

The "Truckin' " write up is real nice. It has the winners' names listed. Jason, you're famous! But for some reason they didn't put a picture of your boat in  Maybe this year :D
Just checked out the CBBB site---it looks like 65 boats are already registered!! :2purples:

I was going to get first floor, but I heard it was noisy, so went with the next one up. The elevator was slow, but fun. :D

So It's not really a low freeboard get
together? Last year it was all 20' and
under, from what I could see, but it
sounds like this year may be a little
different? Is that the case?
Curious...

I dont know if you would like to bring something over 20' in that part of the river until after 3pm, it is pretty shallow.
Bring that beauty of a boat out that is in the sig. :D

I was just getting worried that there
might be some bigger boats this year,
and I didn't want us to feel out of place.
Just trying to get a feel for the crowd and
type of boats......

Let me put it this way, BlingBling and Threedaysonly showed up and they aren't low freeboard at all :D :D That's what I meant though by friendlier to the smaller boats. Like Don said you have to wait till later. But RevWilliams had his 22 Daytona out there pretty early.

The focus of our event is most definitely classic customs of the past, and current models that have evolved from those classics. A great example of what I mean is CS19's 19' Daytona, or HBJet's Liberty. Both boats are considerably newer than the stuff from the "good ol' days" but both boats are direct copies or slight evolutions of stuff from many years ago. I guess you could liken it to a glass 32 coupe showing up at a street rod show. It's not vintage steel, but its still a street rod. While the bigger boats are welcome, they are most definitely NOT the focus of the event and nothing has or will change in that regard. There are poker runs, manufacturer regattas, and event's like OP6 etc. that are better suited to those craft.
Our goal is the same as it has been in past years. Get a group of boaters who enjoy the pride of ownership that goes along with the older boats of yester-year, provide a low key atomosphere where everyone can hang out with their families without worry of exposing their kids to what have become the typical "sandbar antics", and just shoot the shit about boats. It's basically a streetrod meet at the river.

ok guys i check with the avi and we have 88 rooms booked ( some of which names i dont know who you are but oh well) i would say only about 75 boats have booked your rooms. i would suggest booking your room asap other wise the booking will fill up and once the hotel is booked there is nothing we can do for you. ;) so book your room and if you decide not to go then cancel two weeks before and you pay nothing.. see you all out there! ;)

We (Posse Folks, 10 boats maybe) typically leave early Friday AM and come back Monday morning. How early is determined by how hot it is during the day. If it's blazing we leave REAL early to avoid running in the heat.
