NOT to stir the waters in here or anything, BUT Eliminator should be proud of this one! BY far the most CUSTOM simi-production boat made out here in CA. Love DCB's and hope to have another one day, BUT I havent seen one to hold a candle to this Daytona......I know its 500K, but they did it. SO MR Big's, I hope your planning big things to keep your ranking as #1 cheerleader.

I agree....that yellow Eliminator was more custom then any other west coast boat out there....however, the Skater took the prize for me overall..
Nice meeting you Kidstuff.

um.... I told brandie to her beautiful face that this 33 daytona is a gorgeous boat ... maybe the nicest at the show...but 500k?? wow ummmmmm 900 EFI's with bravos?? UMMMMM granted it's a 50k paintjob and a 10k full cap but a thats still 440k..... um ....... still looking for my words.... well #1 this is proof that DCB's aren't overpriced #2
If you are gonna spend 500k on a boat you best pony up the extra 180k and get it on ;) 7 more feet of length, 3+ feet wider , 1050 blue power, 6's, and Im guessing 20 mph ;)

the 33 was painted by brian dunn of fresno (rob you were right ;) )... his company is called "who dunn it?"... most recognizably he painted the skater "sweeper"...
and for all of you saying that the 33 has a 500k price tag... full retail on that boat is 430k... it just might be obtainable for less

Both boats are incredible. I know the Skater is getting water tested this weekend so I will report back on the speed if Scott runs it out.

Brian Dunn painted the boat, he's located in Madera, CA just outside of Fresno. Brian's number is 559.822.2011. The shop is called Bullet Fiberglass and "Brian Dunn It". This paint job is sick! He did a wild one on his own 25' Daytona. He does the best yellow to orange/red fades of anybody I've ever seen.
Does excellent work and is pretty fast. He's done some Skaters, lots of Daycruisers and quite a bit of other work. He painted my Hemi motors for me and a couple of trucks.
Thanks,
Dustin Whipple

Yes, the paint job is not in the gel coat, it was painted after the boat came out of the mold.

I would love to ride in it, maybe someday. My other 1/2 actually got to see it in Havasu at the Nautical, she talked to you for a few minutes and looked around the boat. Tony C. had also told me about it, but it was even more impressive in person. If I was in the market for a big cruiser or sportfisher it would definitely be on my list. Good luck with it.

The ones in the current boat show are all gel....I only remember two paint boats from DCB...the first 29 and a 28 that looked like the Bicardi Silver Boat...

Do they fill the seam after they come out of the mold, then spray the gel from the top side?

I believe that is how it's done....I know it is very labor intensive, but can be done to any boat.... Pegged wasn't capped when it was sold, but it is now ;)
Personally I think Bob Teague needs to step up and getter done, that boat is pretty over the top with the motors and all... time to finish it :D
