packing

has any one tryed teflon packing or g.f.o. packing?

We Use Graphite as our Packing Set. It has the Highest RPM rated. Not sure what you mean in Teflon.

Ya might want to check out this product...i like it alot. try this for a link to read more about the fiber packing. http://164.109.56.82/english/ipd/sealants/packing_GFO_Marine.cfm I used a 5/16 diameter packing that came 4 foot long. Enough for your friends! Its square type of rope...no wax or metal in it, and ya use it as any type of packing. What I did was wrap a piece around the shaft so the ends would butt, get my measurement, cut it. I think I fit 5 or six in the pump, one at a time and ya must stager the seams! Top to bottom or left to right whatever. Then just snug down on the packing bolts (evenly)...not to much. Do a run on the pump snug down the bolts one or two more times...thats it, never had to look at it again. http://164.109.56.82/english/ipd/sealants/packing_GFO_Marine.cfm

thanks! the gfo is graphite packing. i wasent sure about sucking air or temp
gfo is good to 550 so iam going to try it!
