I'm looking for coordinates for the dangers and hazards on Havasu and the Colorado. Navigation software is formatted in mm.mmm and dd.mmm and so on, so it isn't exactly compatible to good ol N blahblah.27 W blahbalh.333. Anywayz..I'm looking for traditional mappable coordinates. Any of y'all help a brother out?

I'd say if your drive hits it, write down the coordinates for us.

Means that you've chosen to hide your online status.

Look at it this way. If you had a family member going for the very first time, where would you mark on a map for them to be careful. Known shallows, rocks, stumps...stuff you knew about. Forget the coordinates. Would you mark a map?

So, it means I didn't know what the heck I was doing when I registered?

The only place you really need to worry about is the north end of the lake when it enters the river. It is shallow there and has an ever changing channel to go up river. I always stay right of the reed island when heading north.

Ahh..thanks. And that's it? No sandbars lurking in unlikely places?

Really just that area unless you start to go up river. Everything else is marked pretty well with bouys.

Just stay on the water side of any beaches or river banks. :D

I agree with Matt, and fortunately have never hit bottom going up river (looking for wood to knock on right now)
I tend to stay about 100 feet off the island

That's probably a good plan. I'm used to dodging stumps, underwater roads, sandbars in the middle of nowhere and all poorly marked. i didn't know anyone knew whay buoys meant? My rule of thumb is to stay the heck away from them.

Since your are AKA Pavlov's Dog....there is another hazard that awaits you at Havasu. There is a regular at Havasu that has a "thing" for dogs.
Since you are participating in a white male elitest past time that can only be afforded by the rich, is it safe to assume you have given up your liberal-Texas-jobless-hippie-still-mad-at-mom-and-dad-for-not-buying-you-a-pony way of life, or are you still comfortable with being an ignorant hypocrite who can't hold down a day job?
Oh yeah, we missed you!!! Love and Kisses.

I'm bringing Mom. Daddy gave us the credit card and the Beemer for the Summer. Toodles..I gotta go beddy bye, or I won't get my allowance. Then I'm screwed. Can't hug trees on an empty stomach.

Mark it on a map and I'll get the coordinates for other boaters.
