My neighbor put a Phaff 960 hp in a Daytona. Hit 111 on GPS. He thinks he can get 115 with a new prop

The engine is a EFI 588ci with M4SC Procharger. Im planning on 9-10 lbs boost at about 1300hp.(this isnt the first one of these I have done) I have a Imco 4x4 drive on the 27 now with the transmission inside the set back box. I have had great luck with Imco extreme drives up to 1150hp, but this is the first 4x4 I have tried.
Vodkarocks - I had a 27 Daytona last year with a teague 800 carb that ran 115.8mph on gps. It was the red/gray on the cover of Powerboat Magazine so Im sure 960hp will go faster with the right setup.

Eliminator, good luck with the setup....I am always interested to see how the upgraded bravo's hold up that power, specifically the 4x4...It always seems like it is more the driver than drive... :)

Good luck on the 4x4 I tried them and distroyed four of them !!!!!!they will NOT !!!! hold up over 1000 hp . 1400 HP at 1.22 ratio ,30 x 15.5 five blade hydromotive prop, 4x4 drive ,Daytona 26 ( same hull as the 27 ) got me to 141.9 mph at 6500 rpm, 598 cu in, Whipple Quadrotor 3.3,dual dom 's 1150's,
at Parker at the PowerBoat mag Shootout. I now have a Weisman surface drive on it and so far I can't break it.I,m building a new motor with much more power and will be at the Desert Storm Poker Run in April at Havasu for a speed run to run over 150mph. Bring yours and lets see what she will do. With the right prop and setup and perfect water you should be able to run around 135 ,maybe more.there was two different huls made one is faster than the other. I have a lot of info on the 4x4 drive and big power on the 26/27 hulls so PM me for more.

I've had my 26' up too 124mph my understanding is that the bottom of the 26' and the 27' are the same but i could be wrong?? I have a pretty big motor attached too a Bravo xr I break it quite often but it's usually easy enough too fix and be back out on the lake the next weekend (I think I broke it 3 times last summer??) this is the motor:

The 26 & 27 have the same hull but there is two types one has a small step in the rear thats the one I have ,Jerry may @ eliminator can explain. One of the types is for the surface drive which is what I am running now. Nice Motor Boat 030 see ya on the lake this summer and I won't be the one being towed !!!!! hehehe !!!! Now I need a tow out from the dock to open water as its not very driver friendly anymore !!!!

Hey 030, now that sounds like a serious piece. Are you going to keep the same drive or upgrade to something a little heavier duty? RR

no I'm going to use the same drive I don't feel like there's a a good enough alternative too what I have so I'm just going too keep re-building it everytime it breaks :hammer2:

I just have a little 621 (with an iron block) so 030 will probably blow by me this year and he may give you some competition too. :)

When is somebody going to build a twin turbo motor tied to a wiesman or arenson......sick, sick power. With all the sophisticated fuel injection stuff out now I would think it would be no sweat. Just talked to a buddy who races IHRA super mod, current motor is 816" Mountain with about 800HP of nitrous ~2400HP. Building a twin turbo 500" motor that they are expecting 3000-3300HP out of...... :2purples: :2purples: :2purples:

He tried that once !!!! hehehe !!!!! I think you all need to dump the 1471's and move up to the new tech stuff. MORE BOOST !!!!!!!!! Gee you both will have bigger motors than me gues I will be the under dog !!!!! hehehe !!!!! Keith I have an extra couple NOS bottles cause your gonna need them more than me !!! hehehe !!!!
