I saw your boat at the regatta....very good looking boat....different colors and I like them. I already have an F, but I figured the pix would help. Were you asking me about power in the magic? I don't have one.
Good luck selling it, what are you doing next?

Good luck selling her...and if you want a cover, I am sure there are some billet experts around that can duplicate it....just have to pay the initial computer setup fee...I was charged 150, but Xfactor and I split it....Call Ron at Ron's custom detail, I bet his guy could duplicate it...can't believe Dave has not made them standard...

Well I talked with Mbrown2 (MIKE). He had both engines in two DCB 26's he gave me the pro's and cons to both. After talking to him extensively, I could find very few cons to the outboards. I think they look sweet , sound sweet and as anyone will tell you you can run full throttle all day, every day and the engines are turn key with NO drive issues. It gets great gas Mileage. Now the inboard big block will out run the outboards in the mid range and top end , by about 5 mph...
The outboards from what all have said will run with the closed bow between 106 and 108 and the big block will run 112 as like the one Union Jack has...
DID I say very few people have them.....
One look at Mbrowns2 boat and we were sold.....
Oh yeah I forgot I worship RICKY

The question is....Did Dave use any lube?? The day somebody pays $160k for an F-26 with 300x's will be quite a day. I'm suprised the banks are still willing to give loans for this type of BS

There's NO comparison on price. What I find interesting is that over the past 3 years, the price of his 26 has increased about 50%!! Don't get me wrong, Dave is a great guy and builds one of the nicests boats. But when will this insanity stop? I'll tell you what though..... I can't wait for interest rates to sky rocket! At this rate, I'll be able to pick up repos for nothing at all :shift:

I'm going to take flak for this but with the prices these guys are paying for DCB's, why aren't these guys turning to some of the east coast models. (I.E... Lipship edition Cigarette's, Spectre, or older Skater's, those boats would definitely command respect in Havsu anytime) Go easy on me just trying to figure why with the monies that are being paid, why not go to where it all started?

I don't think your off base at all. But why do some people buy a Benz and othera a Vette... It's all about what your looking for. If you look at a 28' Skater it's made for one thing and that's to run hard. It has no cabin, no storage and seating for 5...... Look at the new Spectre Andy got in Cats and Tunnels that's a great boat and he had a Mach26 before. He decided to go in a different direction.

That is one of the sweetest Spectres I've seen in awhile. I hear whatcha sayin. But back to original question I thought the quote of 160K for a 26' boat (with OB's) was still too high, and now I hear it cost more than that, so why not get a Nor-Tech. Maybe a used one, but you know owners of Nor-Tech are gonna take care of them and the quality is comparable if not superior.

Well you have no argument from me if your paying $170 for any 26' boat period, hell it better come with Pam Anderson for that price. But your not going to find a used Nor-Tech for $170K either. You can find 28 Skater with Outboards for $114,900 for a 2000 but this guy has had it for sale for 2+ years....

Like you said people buy Porsches and some swear by Corvettes (Me being one of them) but sometimes in any product, when you compare them and see one that really sticks out it makes ME really curious as to what gives (I.E....26' with OB's) especially after looking at that clean ass Skater you just showed me, even for a 2000.

DD is right a stock base 30' has gone up a little, $130ish with a trailer. $155ish for an i/o 30', I think 500hps. Then paint, interior and the other options will put you up in the $150's on an O/B boat and $180's on a I/O boat. Those of course are retail numbers. We all know you can beat them down from there.
This is on another thread, now add the paint and all the options that I have on my boat and the paint job and this boat is now up at around 200K.
As Rocky stated there is no cabin and seats 5. That boat just doesnt work for me. Granted it is faster and it is a very seet boat. You might be really surprised at how close my boat was to cost in your magic :coffeycup
Nortec, Um I dont have 500 plus k to spend on one
Cig, the new top gun in this months powerboat was over 600K.

Definitely hear you guys on the different set-ups. When they quoted on the F26, the salesman mentioned "bling-bling" on that paticular boat would that be the brackets and paint job that it has on it? He said $160K, then add the "bling-bling" So I was assuming it went up into the $175K+

Kilrtoy
02-05-2005, 01:03 AM
There is alot of little touches that you can consider personal touches. The most noticable is the boat is capped, that was very expensive, the cowlings were painted. The bracket on the back is stand on outboards, but IM SURE you are paying for it. i did alot of little nick knacks that added up, that most would never notice on the boat. upgrade to triple oddessy batteries, very exspensive, the LED lights on the bow, led lights inside the boat... Those are just some of the little things that I had done...

TexasJet
02-05-2005, 07:33 AM
Ya know, I think there is a probably a big difference in price between a guy that walks up to the salesman at the show and says " hey man, what's the price of one of these?" vs the guy who has been talking to them for weeks and finally sets down in their office, drops his checkbook on the desk and says "what's the final best price you can give me?" But, I could be wrong cause I never owned a new boat.
