GG,
#1 If your boat has been equipped with a small manual 1/4 turn valve, make sure it hasnt been moved. #2 If that isnt the problem, check the lines on the "bad side", you might have a leak or pinch. #3 If that isnt it, you could have a blockage in pump hydraulic resevoir, which would require a thorough dissassembly and cleaning. Thats all I have in my grab bag, Hopefully the manual valve just got bumped or vibrated over a bit. Good Luck.

I messed up...they are the electric arms not the hydraulic hinges...

GG,
You will have to trace the electrical back from the "bad side" ram. It should tie into the other ram's wires somewhere in the loom. The two wires coming off each electric hatch actuator are only a positive and a negative. In a pinch, you could disconnect the "bad ram" from the hatch and connect its two wires directly to the battery, just to rule out the possibilty of a faulty ram(Only to test it!). Trace the wires first, also: look where the wires come into the ram itself, they can wear and frey there also. Im hoping you just have a loose wire.

WTF, how is this even remotely related to the tires issue?

Uh, yeah, I know that, I read the thread. I was asking how are the issues with the tires being switched out even remotely related to the hatch not going up? The tire issues is just plain old BS, though we don't know who did what. The hatch not going up could be any number of problems that was no fault of anyone.

The hatch could be anything, but it sucks to buy a NEW boat to you, and have problems start off before you even hit the water..... and when I call essex, your name is??????????

Uh, well, seeing how I don't work for Essex you won't be able to get in contact with me there. If I did work for Essex do you think I would have said it was a bad deal with the tires? The buyer in the deal got screwed, regadless of who was at fault, with the tire deal.

Maybe, now realizing that the company name is getting slammed, AGAIN. You could come in and save the day....

Read the posts again, I do not work for Essex, so I can't "...save the day." I think the buyer got screwed regardless of who, seller or builder, switched the tires out. There is no way that was right by any stretch of the imagination.
