I am in sales and I get this deal done. So the new client flys out to our offices to meet with me and sign the contract and collect the $$ I am on the way to the office and my boss calls me and says don't worry I'll handle it. I say you sure I have a repore built with this guy and I think I should be there. To make a long story short Mr. head honcho acts like one and spent about half an hour with the guy and he is constantly anwering his cell phone while trying to get this guy to hand over a check for 20K. The Boss says here is the contract I have to go sign it and leave it with the secretary!!!!!!! I finally hear from this guy and he tells me mr. big shot ****ed this up and he did not like the way he handles business. I call the boss and tell him everything I told all of you and his reply was That guy is a quack he was never on board. He than calls the guy to oppologise what a ****ing dick. The reason he did not want me to be at the meeting is because he did not want me to be away from making more deals. Well I feel better getting this out in the open. Any comments people????? I am now looking for another sales job I live in phx az if anyone knows of something please pass it along. OH YA BY THE WAY THIS IS NOT THE FIRST MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You seem to have good intuition and instincts. Ask for your commission and walk away

I work for a Landscape company. Our GM is a dip ship. But he's been here for a long time almost as long as the companys beed around. It's to bad they can't see the smoke that is being blown up, well you know. It's very frustrating. I just try and look on the brighter side, but we've lost some good people because of him. :frown: :hammerhea :hammerhea

Line up some of your larger clients for a business lunch and tell them your boss will be there to do a presentation. Don't tell your boss about it until about 5 minutes before the lunch. Then hand him your letter of resignation and tell him what a prick he has been and insert the letter into the ole brown spot. Hopefully you will have a new job on the hook prior to screwing him. :D :D :D .

me. I'm a pencil-pushing consultant.
you know, if your a good salesman, you should be able to start your own racket. I always tell clients that the hardest part of running their own venture is....."finding new business." If you got that figured out the rest is a piece of cake.
I always hear lots of people say that they need good outsourced marketing/sales support. We partner with a some good ones in "financial sales."
opportunities abound... you just got to make them happen-captain!.
Plus think of that warm fuzzy feeling you get when your ex-boss finds out your the competition. That is a priceless feeling!. ;)
good luck.
what do you do Dave????
