There are lots of different tunnel hulls available. I was wondering everyones thoughts on which is the best. Some that come to mind are Eliminator Daytona, Ultra Stealth, Cheyenne, Liberator, and Tom Papps tunnel. Its my long term goal to buy or build one and im not sure whats the best. I was looking at the Ultra 21 deck boat. Those look pretty sweet.

TM, it really depends on what you want to do with it, and how fast you want to go. Up to 100, the tx19 is a sweet little lake hot-rod & probably the most fun. The Cheyenne is a great boat up to about 125-130, and above that, probably the Stealth.
The Stealth seems to take quite a bit more HP to get up and run than the Cheyenne, and to go really fast and get it to set right, you are looking at some bottom work.
Daytona is a great boat obviously and I've not had a lot of experience with them, but they're somewhat heavy from what I understand.
You are sure comparing apples to oranges though. When you say you like the looks of the Ultra Decker, you are talking plenty of room....something you are sure not going to have with a tunnel. That is the one thing I really miss about the old omega open-bow - it had tons of room to stretch out! lol
Hope this has helped a little.

My 19' Liberator is basicly the same as the Daytona, and it makes a great " dual Purpose " lake/hotrod boat , Dave said my hull layup is around 550-600#
w/ moderate power it will break 100mph if wanted ( pulley swap )
I have had a few on the board here take it for a solo spin and not one came back disappointed :D just ask LewdAct here on the forums :D

I will second that,, i have never been a big fan of the whole pickle fork phenomenum, but i must say,, that liberator of Chris's really handled well and shocked me with the bumpin 100mph with 2 lbs of boost,, man chris you need to rethink your tune-up :p ,, but all in all after that ride,, i think those ole pickle fork boats arent so bad after all,,, :mix:

Who were the clowns that took a CVX-20 to the river races a couple of years ago? I think read and saw pictures of them at jetboatracing.com. I think they were asked to leave when everyone decided they were unsafe...

Youngblood TX 18 has its own looks and bottom.guys are running them at 115.I am sure that is fast enough for the lake.

Dan at LCK marine in OKC has the Condor mold for this hull.

No, The center pod is not right in relation to the sponsons for a fast boat. If they were a killer boat, I doubt they would be on ebay trying to sell new ones.

Take a look at the third picture down in the first column to see what I mean.

Duane did you look at both Warhawk adds on the red and white one the bottom is like the 20 foot Youngbloods .
But in the second add (green and yellow one)the sponsons are hacked off leaving all most no tunnel in the back.
Did Warhawk do this to this hull or the guy selling it?

Here in PA where ***boats are VERY VERY RARE, my cousin started dealing with Warhawk and set up 3 pickleforks and 1 tx-19 . At 90-100 mph the handling is unbelievable on the pickleforks.
Warhawk makes a nice boat, but it seems to be more family oriented of a jet.
Theres a great deal of room.
Both guys have blown stroked BBC's in them but there having a hard time seeing over 100mph.
I still think the pumps were not set in correctly.

The 19 ft. deals are WAAAY SMALL inside (snug for 2 peeps), a 21 Daytona has a bunch more room and the handling on all Daytonas is awesome. I've run the 21 over 100+ in chop that has the 19s sitting and watching from the shore. Before you step up with the cash, drive some of these. Maybe some of the replies are from people who never rode in what they are posting about (nahhh, that would never happen). I currently own three Daytonas; a 21 jet (over 110 mph on regular without a blower), a 24 w/350 power,Mercruiser Alpha 1 in the low 60s, and a 25 that I am updating currently,(speed? you'll know when the time is right). I have videos of the 21 running (digital), if someone can tell me how to post it, I will. Call me, I'll give you a RIDE if you are serious. TIMINATOR

That is my friends new stealth, I think it's a little bigger then 19 but will check. I helped with a little bit of the new stuff he installed. Pete the friend who owns it has been racing many years and last season his youngblood pickle grenaded when he hit a roller that the safety crew missed @ Blarneys' Island thursday drags. he had won the first 3 races and I think was on his way to a clean sweep last season. Pete could have had any hull he wanted ... He chose the Papp, to me that carries some weight. with over 1K hp (single carb) I'm thinking he'll see well over 120mph at our 1K ft course here. I talked to Pete the week after the crash last July. He was still pretty beat up.
There seems to be quite a few guys who race there with boat hulls that are so paper thin that eventually they self destruct.
A Texas tunnel had the bottom rip out and sink while I was there.
It can get so rough there that you can't run WOT through the whole course.
I talked to the guy who sets up the race course at Blarneys and asked him "just what length is the course" ? He said that they just throw the bouys out every week and don't really know how long the course is. He guessed somewhere between 1/8 mile and 800'
