how hard should a new impeller go on. should it just slide on or do you have to press it on

should just slide on but with no play at all on shaft

the one I just took off had to be cut off. Now I'm installing a bronze impeller and it won't go on. :clover:

Take a little emery cloth and make sure the shaft is clean. Then take a ball type brake cylinder hone and hone out the impeller center until it fits.

remember lit bit at da time, if ya want to put some antisieze on the shaft where the impeller goes so later on if ya need to take it off it won't be stuck to the shaft, that's always helped me just my .02
