How do you guys keep your Amp from overheating out at the River in the summer? After about 1 hour of playing it loud in the heat it starts to cut out. Do I need to get a blower fan and just keep pushing air over the top of it?

there are many different ways of keeping the amps cool, post some pics of where the amps are mounted and what is hooked up to them and we can go from there.

My amp has one of those long cylinder type fans installed right above it on my DCB beater. I blast the radio for hours. Seems to work ok. Comes on when I turn on the radio. Doesn't look all that complicated. Should be easy to aquire and install.

I have a 21 ft jet and the Amp is located on the passengers side seat towards the front wall. I am running a single 10 and 4- 5.25's. It is a crossfire 404. Here is a picurehttp://us.f3.yahoofs.com/users/41b5bdd8zfcafef90/d38d/__sr_/e99c.jpg?phjVUECB24PQx_YY

The only objective is to move heat with air off the amp's heatsink. You can just mount a long crossflow fan below the amp....

How much do they run? How do install them?

You can find them online for 25-50.00... All they have is a power and ground, so you'll need a bosch relay to switch 12v constant when the system is turned on . Hopefully there's a relay already in your 12v remote turn on between your headunit and amp(s). If so, just connect the 12v constant to the red lead on the fan and ground the fan's other wire. If not, now's the perfect time to add one. They're very easy to install...

Would it help to run one of these if my amps were mounted in the motor compartment?

I'm not a big fan of amps in the engine compartment, lots of bad past experience.
