heres the deal!!
i have a jacuzzi yj (i know--pile-o-shat--)
i lost a thrust berring at the begining of last year.replaced it,took it out,and could hardly get on a plane.i knew what it was so i went and bought some shims.installed them and it was alot better, but not the same(i didn't buy enough shims.took it out six or so times, knowing it wasn't perfect.now i just pulled it apart--intalled more shims--the impeller is a few thousandths from the wear ring---perfect---or---not??????
my impeller is riding just before the end of the wear ring
hear is why i am asking for any and all advice on this set up---
i have installed 4 sets of big shims--and 3 sets of small shims--seven shims per side--over all i've shimed over a 1/4 inch--more like 5/16
i've talked to a few people about this but i would love to hear from someone who knows---and or someone who has done this?????????????
any help much apreciated--thanx--

Once your impeller reaches the front of the wear ring, You're done. Spend $1100.00 and buy another SS impeller and wear ring and start orver. Or, buy an energizer kit for $1395.00 and solve the problem for good.
