I Am Looking At An 85 Bahner 21, The Boat Looks Good But I Cant Find Any History On Bahner Boats. Except They Won A Few Races In 77 &78
Is It A Quality Boat?
Why Did They Go Out Of Business?
What Should I Beware Of?
Any Info On The History Of Bahner Boats Is Apreciated.

oh, by the way, I really like mine. It's an 18' open bow, kind of a rare boat from what I understand.
Here's a Bahner ad from 1979

Steve, you haven't registered it ? Bahner Registry (http://www.roostwear.com/registry.htm)
Oh, and cool brochure. Do you mind if I add it to the collection?

I was running side by side with a friend who was in his Bahner. we hit some rough water and his boat disentegrated. this was at Keystone lake in about 1987. I pulled him out of the water and took him to shore where another guy took him to the ramp and then the hosp. the cops went to the hosp and wrote him a ticket. they caught me at the ramp and wrote me one too.

Mike,
Sure, feel free to use it and any of the others you may not have that are on the LBBA message boards, the link is in my signature. There's a thread in the Jet Boat forum titled "Boat ads from 1979" with a few and if I can get the time, I'll be adding some more.
As far as the registry, yea, I know, I'll get it done pretty soon :)

I have an 83' 19' open bow with 454 and set back berkley jet. I love it. For a small boat it handles the rough pretty well. I heard Bahner boats are high quality, but the problem was the owner had a drug problem, to say the least!!!! I would get it depending on the price

I have one and I love it. If not moving up to a V drive I'd keep it forever!

TBone,
Have you measured yours from bow to stern? Mine was classified as a 19' but it's only 18'1" or so.
Here's a pic of it before I put TT headers on it

I just bought one. And its a 1985 21'. I hear they are really well built. I have not had mine on the water yet, but when I do I'll share any information. I dont know whats up with the dude who saw one disinigrate, but I have seen a miller and a Hallett come apart, and those a quality boats too. So, I would check the boat out real well, take quality care of it and have a good time.

Any boat can and will come apart under the right circumstances.
The only knock I've heard about Bahner was the legal problems of the owner of the company.
I believe your 21 is a splash of the Eliminator mini cruiser from the late 70's.
