I finally started working on replacing the stringer and floor about 2 months ago. She is finally done and ready to be flipped. I replaced the driver side stringer, installed new bulkhead, and a new floor! I made a stand out of 2x6 so I can flip her and repair the crack and straighten the bottom! I have 90mph in mind with her now!!!

Phil,
Really nice glass work!!! It looks bitchen! Has Squirtcha figured out his mph gain from doing the bottom yet? Good luck with it.

Thanks, I think Squirtcha gained 2-3 mph? I am just hoping to get mine to quit porpoising, but 90mph would be nice :D

Fomoco,
nice job on the stringer / floor repair -- I did the same a year or so ago -- just a lot slower at getting things back together (read as cash flow problem :-))
I noticed in the background of your pics a hardtop for a Sunbeam -- do you have an Alpine or Tiger?
I have a 66 alpine -- car I drove in HS -- wanted to put a small block in it so bad but pop said no. Ended up doing one of those early carb'd turbo 2300 fords. Ran ~ 15psi of boost and broke the rear end right away. Ended up narrowing a 9" fabbed some brackets and put some discs on it too. Latest iteration is broke (blown head gasket from 30psi boost) but it is efi turbo 2300 with a hybrid t3/t4 turbo, volvo intercooler, t-5, and etc. mostly junk yard parts. Fun cars -- don't think I am going to fix the 4 banger this time -- maybe a stroked small block? who knows -- I got a boat to work on!!

Funny You noticed that from the pic. Its for my Dads 1965 ALpine. Its pretty stock except I think he just put dual carbs on it. The one in the pic with the cover on it is a 1961 thats not restored yet. That ones waiting to get a 2.3 turbo from an 86 SVO Mustang!! So i take it from your Sunbeam that the 2.3 fits pretty good?
