Anyone know info on Challenger? [Archive]

I am now the owner of a 1978 Challenger. Does anyone know any history on the company, the boats...anything at all.
I was looking at my title the other day and the HID on the title and boat do not match. What looks like the date in the HID on the title says 78, but on the hull, it says 79 ???
Anyway, boat runs great and am happy. Just trying to get a little background info.

yes thats my baby. he called me today. i gave him some info on the pump, & tried to convince him to change the cam.... that boat would move it would turn some R's... w/ all that pump and bottom work it will fly.

If it's an 18, it should basically be a splash of an 18 Southwind.
