Sure is slow in here. Whats everyone working on? Ive been plugging away on my boat. I hope to have it wet no later than July this year.
I sprayed the gel late last year. Its sanded down now, i just need to go out and buy a variable speed polisher to get it looking good.

Also been working on a rail kit. Started out with a wood template(easier to cut than aluminum)

Once I was happy with the fit, I fired up the table saw and Jig saw and got busy.

Beleive it or not, a table saw with a decent blade on it will cut through aluminum very easily. The Jig saw was a little slower, but it worked.
I should have the plates polished by the end of this weekend. After that Im gonna gel the bilge and transom all black and then work on making the gel shine. Motor is being built at DNE right now and is slated for the Dyno mid June.

My project is the complete restoration of a 75 sunkist w/jacuzzi pump. I have removed & replaced the stringers & transum. Stripped the paint fixed stress cracks and so far painted the bottom of the hull. The past week I have fill in the gauge holes. Somewhere along the boats history it was changed from a right side steering to a left side. You should have seen how this was done. . The hull goes in for final paint this week end.
Had to find a motor which I picked up for a good price out of a chevy truck ( 454 Gen 5) . So far I will be replacing the heads with some rect port heads, Changed the pistons to 9.5 compression, cam , timing chain, oil pan/pump. I still need to get a intake and carb.
I still have a lot to do. With all rigging needing to be done. I hope to have it done by april. Just in time to play. ;)

Jake, Ive got a set of Imco tanks i picked up for a steal. 15 gallons each. Should help with the distance capabilities with the new motor. For seats, im having Stratton Marine do the upholstery, i may build the seats, just depends on timing and $$$$. I have a design that I found that I can duplicate, not sure Im sold on it yet though...Im still looking for examples of seats that I like.
CRF311, Ive still got that Aluminum WJ impeller worked over by MPD. Ive also got a Torker manifold and a 750 holley carb i'll let go cheap.

My project is the same thing every year. Add new parts and polish everything for the season.

You guys are way ahead of me on this one. I'm moving the pump back, removing the interior for a couple of buckets, and stuffing in a blown alky 496 in my Bahner. I have most of the engine parts, but I'm still in the collecting stage. I'm also upgrading my pump to handle the power. Don't know if I'll get it done this year or not, but I'll try. I'd love to get it to CBBB. and maybe Ming in Sept. :D :coffeycup

When you live in a frozen wasteland you have plenty of time for winter projects.
I did a major rework on my intercooler box so now everything will go in from the top.
I removed the flange from around the bottom and now I can remove the manifold with the intercooler mounted on it.

Then I found that if you get a buffer it can start an obsession with polishing aluminum parts.
http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/220crank_trigger_mount.jpg
I polished the front and rear motor mounts, crank trigger mount, throttle cable mounts, motor mounts, fuel pump mount, intercooler box, scoop, turbo compressors, fuel rails and mounting brackets, and several other small parts.

Hey ! I hadn't thought of that. Can you come over and help me hold the block up against the buffing wheel ?

Probably be easier to hold the buffing wheel up to the block!
