# 1. This thing is gonna' be built in Saltillo, MEXICO
# 2. Dodge still doesn't have a real tranny to handle all that HP and torque !!

I've got 2 (2001 & 2004) that are built in Saltillo, Mexico. Now, I can't say that I agree with D/C farming out American labor to down there, but as far as the integrity of the vehicles, they're great.
48RE is doing just fine behind a 305/555 Cummins in momma's 2004, chipped, exhaust, intake, and an overboosting turbo. Drive it like you care about it, it'll hold up. To be honest, my opinion is that nobody except for a built Ally tranny can hold up to the torque of a diesel. (Enter Jordy with a smart ass comment here..... :D )
My 99 Chev 1/2 ton truck was an awesome truck too, no problems, just like the 2 Dodge's I've now. So was our Mercedes, our Acuras, our Fords, our Hondas, and whatever else (except for Jeep, that thing sucked).

I like all the room inside but from the outside imo....it looks kinda goofy. :squiggle:

I dont think it will be much of a rival, the f250 is a tough one to beat. Remember in 07 there will be a all new superduty, and I'm sure it will still retain It's # 1 status.

Still with reclining backseat and cummins motor, gives tow rigs more choices.

"Overboosting" turbo ??
Not quite stock...say, it can pull 5 to 10 pounds of boost over what the stock computer management system would let it do. You know, the little black box that dumps more fuel and raises the fuel pressure - - - along with the larger diameter turbo boost "elbow."
Turned up a little, not too much.
:D
They're good trucks for us, then again, I like them all and would be proud to own any of them.

Wow !! I think my truck hauls ass with intake, Edge Juice and a 4" RBP exhaust. I hit maybe 26 lbs. of Turbo boost max and at times it seems just short of scary :jawdrop:

I like the size of that cab. I am about 2-3 weeks away from buying a new truck, Finally. It's now down to ford or chevy. If that new Mega cab was available now, I would really consider owning it!

The Bed of the New Dodge looks really small.

[B] (except for Jeep, that thing
sucked).
PHX , I had a 1985 Cherokee Turbo diesel [ 10# boost]
that had a puny 2.1 L engine . ;) .Had no problem pulling
my boat [ 4030 lbs with trailer] . Sold it with 180.000
miles on it ,still running like new. I have a 98 Grand
Cherokee now [ 70.000 miles ] and I only wish it would
have a HEMI , cause I pull 6000# now ;)

37,000 to 46,000
Nope... I just read there won't be a long bed or dually available w/ this new truck. What a freaking joke. How many people buy heavy duty trucks w/ short beds? I'm on my third Dodge truck, but because of this, there probably won't be a fourth.

In all fairness, ours was a 1984, 2 door Cherokee, Godawful brown, that we bought used and I did nothing but fix it the first 2 years of our marriage. It had over 100,000 on it with the 2.5L baby 4 cylinder gasser, 4 speed. It did allright for what it was, but man, I HATED that thing as I was always spending money and wrenching under the hood. :rollside:

About time Dodge made a real crew cab. The 2004-2005s sucked for cab space. :220v:

Oh I don't know, I think you'd have a real hard time breaking the NV5600!
The Cummins is hard to beat. All three can make good power when hot-rodded, but only the Cummins offers the peace of mind of a truly bulletproof motor. 33k miles on mine now, and still haven't found a reason to take it back to the dealer for repair of any kind. The megacab should answer any complaints about the smaller size of the previous trucks. I actually like the smaller quad-cab because it's noticably more maneuverable than the full crew cabs.
