im looking for some good pics of boat dolly's. i need to make one for the rogers that will allow me to fit the boat inside the fifth wheel toy hauler. ive got some ideas but pics of what people are allready useing will be a big help. i know some of the racers use these and im sure alot of you take pics of them. can you please post some. id really appreciate it. also has anyone made one of these from aluminum instead of steel? i would think since it doesnt have to be towed on the streets that aluminum would be plenty strong, and pretty damn trick looking.
thanks...victor

Victor,
I just finished a boat dolly a couple months ago.
My goal was to be able to tow it down the road short distances and have removeable casters for rolling around in the garage.
I used scafflold casters and they have worked real well, the big diameter rolls around real easy.
For the main axle I used a torsion suspension.

The frame is 2" x 4" x 1/4" wall tubing.
The tongue is collapsible and needs to be 2 1/2 " material at least so it's solid enough.

Not raggin on ya, but why the suspention if tow short and put in another trailer? I would think you would not need suspention.
Just askin. I might do the same. I am 70' when I tow doubles.

thanks unchained, thats what i am looking for. and the caster idea is great. i may have to incorperate that so when the 5 car garage gets built. perfect for getting it tucked away from harm.
dan. id like the suspension aswell since many of the parks and launch ramps have dips and speed bumps. even a slow rollover of a speed bump can and will jolt the trailer enough to put stress cracks in the hull if your not carefull. it also takes alot of the shock off the trailer itself. i will most likely use the leafs as i allready have an extra axle with leaf springs at the house.
