im looking for some boat dolly pics. the kind that some racers use to haul thier boat in an enclosed trailer. i want to build one so i can hual my boat inside the 5th wheel toy hauler. i have some ideas, but would like to see what is allready being used. also has anyone used aluminum instead of steel? im thinking since it doesnt have to be towed on the streets or for long distances the aluminum would be plenty strong and look pretty damn trick. im thinking two 2" round tubing with webbing between would be plenty strong for the main sections. plus since i have the tubing bender it will make it easier and look nicer than the typical reqtangular tubing. plus alot less cutting and welding to make bends and such. the steep ramp of the toy hauler will be the biggest problem that i can see so far, but with some added ramps i think it will be doable. i didnt get a chance to go to ming to check these out and would like to make this before the season begins. if you have some pics i would really appreciate seeing them. thanks.

I don't know if I would use golf cart tires and wheels.
There are several companies that make dolly tires/wheels intended to be pulled down the highway and can handle the weight of a fully loaded trailer. Snow machine and ATV trailers use them. Even if you're going to pull it around in your toy hauler, it would at least be nice to have the possibility of being street legal.
My dad had a utility/car trailer made using those (no fenders inturding onthe floor) and it was pretty cool having an 8 foot wide flat floored trailer that could haul 6000 lbs.

great tip on the tires and wheels. i only came up with the ussumption of golf cart tires and wheels from what they look like in the pics. ill look into the correct tires for this application for sure. thanks again guys. and by looking at the pics i see that the ramp in the toyhauler will definatly be much steeper so ill have to make some pre ramps that the toyhauler ramp will sit on to lesson the angle. i will be useing a winch for power but most likely have to guide it by hand. these pics are definatly helping. thanks a bunch.
