I dont tow with it but I've got a 72 Chevy Short Bed, 307 3 speed on the column, 75K original miles. My dad bought it in 1980 and I restored it in 97. It's a thing of beauty. Not much a of tow rig though, stricty a Sunday Cruiser.

I know "rrrr" has a mint 68 Howard all original with the mean FE in it. He found a 68 Ford truck long bed with an FE, same color brown, he is going to tow it with.
thats cool.

I've seen that pic before. I haven't had my boat hooked up to it yet, waitin on a new tranny for the truck, but I bet its gonna look tight. A '72 pullin a '78, and no Im not stuck in the 70's. I wasn't born till the 80's so I missed out.

I've got a 1979 Crew cab Chevy that I want to 'revive, restore' to it's old ways. It has a turbo BB Chevy and a T400, it has over 489K miles on it. I don't have pix, but it's a 'sleeper' and I like it that way. '56 Ford looks cool, but the paint is too busy for me. More black and less designs. I've always wanted an early wood deck flat with a '57/'58 Ranchero to match. A 354/392 out to 410cu in, and a 6/71, with an old injector hat. Ain't the fastest, but the "bestest" Lots to think about!

I've got a 72 Cheyanne Super 4x4 short bed. 454, alu heads and 4:10's. She'll smoke up the 35's.

You aint lying about that! I have an 80 vette, beautiful car (looks like the bat mobile) and it is completely restored with the exception of the original motor in it. Those things didnt have any power to begin with so imagine what mine is like with a couple 100,000 miles on it. It actually runs ok but is completely gut-less. I can blow the doors off of it in my little VW Jetta Turbo (sad). That will all change soon as it is getting a new motor in the near future.

PQB , you probably have the L48 engine :supp: . I had
the L 82 , still didn't help. Had the Gymkhana[sp]
suspension that helped handling , BUT the rear axlel has
changed from steel to aluminum for 1980:mad:. Not
good for towing :hammer2: .Sold the vette after 3
years and the Lincoln did great with its unitorque frame.
I still like the styling of the 80 vette [ cokebottle] ,
minus its technology :D
