Roosevelt is realy coming up fast. The other day A friend set the same report and the Bobcat ramp was only 3ft under water. Who want s to start a pool to see if it hits the spill ways.

A guy on my street is a pro fisher guy. He was at Roosevelt 2 weeks ago over the weekend for a tourney, and he said in 1 night the water came up 4 feet! He also said the Tonto looked like the frickin Mississippi. It will fill up this year, no doubt in my mind. Just get all of the sh*t out of it first.

Roosevelt is realy coming up fast.
It came up 10' over the weekend a couple weeks ago. The problem is now, it takes alot more water for it to come up because it has to fill such a broad surface area. I'm thinking about making a run up to see it and what it looks like with water in it, instead of a big ugly mud hole.
This is what it looked like last time I was up there:
http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data/500/23DSC00088.JPG
Haven't been back since then and I know it was even lower later on. This was out of the Horse Pasture area I believe. The mud looked like it was crusted over, but you could step on it and be knee deep in 75 year old fish shit. It was gooey nasty mud that you had to scrub to get off and it was even worse on the interior of a boat. :(
That helicopter was fighting a fire on Four Peaks and was coming in and loading up it's belly tank and shuttling water to the fire.

I saw under the link that Rooservelt is 75% full. Is this the highest its been since the addition to the dam?

It will be come April/May when the runoff enters the lake as well.

I think it is at its highest level now(since the dam upgrade)probably a good 20-30 feet higher than the old high water mark and climbing  SRP says full to the gills by spring :2purples: Bet the Salt River is going to be flowing heavy for a while this Spring. So much for the Tempe Town Lake :hammerhea

Beeline Highway (SR 87) like you're going to Payson, follow the turnoff for 88 to Roosevelt Lake. Keep going and it will be on the left hand side. :D

I just noticed that it is 16.79 feet from maximum. That means that the current level is way over the old line of the lake. Definitely the highest ever that Roosevelt has ever seen if this is correct.

My dad ran down there last week and at around 25' from maximum it was just at the level that full was on the old dam. I don't know if the tree huggers won some kind of an injunction to protect the spotted red-assed scisor tailed sap sucker who lives in the flat lands at the shores of the lake. I figured it would be much higher at maximum seeing how they raised it 75' or so I thought.

That's a good article. Raising the dam 77' increased storage 2 million acre feet but they can only use 286,000 of that. Interesting. :D
Sounds like the fishing is going to be good. Perhaps I should go buy a bass boat. :jawdrop: :hammer2: :D

No, I'm not buying a bass boat. How's about a combo fish/ski runabout from say, Bayliner. :crossx:
Hey Magicboy, where's my dirt?

Yeah, brown fiberglass is hot.
If you sold the Nordic for the sake of horses and then end up with some p.o.s. chopper gun boat, that might be enough to be banned from here and RRX. :D

He sold it for retirement... and hay. He no longer exists in my book
How you going to save money when the effer(horse) dies, and you get $2.95 for glue? Boat seemed like the wiser decision to keep in my book.
Sorry, I think we went down this raod, 3-4 months ago. I'm working on your dirt Q-Tip.

Jordy - I'm thinking green/brown, so when I tow it behind the macerating horse trailer it will fit in better and require less cleaning! :D
Magic - Listen huff and puff boy, it's alfalfa to you (the hay, not me  ) and momma's going to be all pissy now that you've mentioned death in the same sentence as her horse. :eat: . Now, where's my dirt? :D

Second hand Roosevelt report from a guy here at work. Horse Pasture is gone the water is about 20-30 feet from the highway. The new ramp at Windy Hill is about to go completely under water was about 2-3 feet from spilling into the parking lot. He said the water wasn't completely a mess but pretty dirty with debris and stuff. All the ramps are in the water now and still more water coming in :D
