A few board members showed an interest in our iPod sleeve. This project started out as myself and my buddies really got tired of chasing our ipod on our dashes and on the floor. The result is a new product offering through Xtreme Audio Covers, Al & Eds and others as they come forward.
This one is the prototype will be available for sale next week. Currently we made 10 and 5 are all ready gone.
We are also making one that is similiar to our stereo enclosure but will fit and ipod and have some water resistant features for our friend that have lower water line boats.
Xtreme Audio Covers
If someone could make them show up that would be nice.

No worries...It looks great! Does it have some sort of material on the inside of it as to not scratch the ipod as you slip it in?

Those are really nice. Do they fit the 20g and the 40g? Do they come custom ordered in the color of your choice? And finally, how much?

Roz,
Yes it has an industrial quality felt for the back of the ipod to lay and two thin strips on the side.
We know people love thier ipods.
I will post a pic of the finished product as soon as we recieve them from polishing some time next week.

Thank you we think so, this has been a project for the last 6 months and finally i feel we have a winner.
Due to the tight tolerance of our mounting system i would not recommend powdercoat, however, annodizing is an option. Because this holder was intended for dual purpose usage (boat, car, rv) we are going to offer them polished. Think about it do you really need a candy purple iPod holder in your tow vehicle?
To answer your question we can powdercoat the unit, but advise against it!
The price for these units are $150ea that includes one mounting bracket. Additional mounting brackets are $20ea.

Are you interested in becoming a dealer for Xtreme Audio Covers for our entire product offerings or just a few of the iPods?

Polished would be great. Which iPod do they fit?

The were designed to go between the 20GB and 40GB. The only difference is the 20gb height is .57 and the 40gb is .63. We accounted for the felt to make up the difference to the .001 we should be fine.
Now if you are not satisfied with the unit send it back. We stand behind our product
I have probably thrown away at least 50 prototypes on everything we make from stereo enclosures to glove boxes.

Let me say Nice Avatar! Ok so our research has shown us that people like to control their ipods so now the enlcosed ipod enclosure is a no go.
Our primary market was intended as a secure holder and not to be water proof. My setup is i have two of the mounts one in my truck and the other in my boat. The billet holder is either in my truck or my boat, when i go into the house i simply slip it out and and put it in its leather case.
Marks Auto Sound has one installed in a new hallet along with the grills, he was pleased with em.
Thanks for the comments.

Is the final model the red one pictured above? I know the holder has evolved, and you stated in an earlier post that you would post pictures of the final version polished model. Lets get-r-done :D
