Looks like it used to have a rideplate.

does it take more machining to get a shoe?

Yes it does. Generally two more, one on each side of the intake, a couple inches forward of those holes.

For a shoe all the area with the white paint would get machined down a bit and tapped and the shoe would fit in there.

We sell a Bolt on Adapt a Shoe kit for that Intake
No Machining reguired "Although having it machined is the Right way to do it"
The cost's for doing that are about $800.00 HIGHER.

putting the ride plate back there will give you a pad for the boat to ride on with more of the hull out of the water, do it right if ya got time and money it will be worth it in the long run it will give you alot more options on set up with the pump and hull :mix:

I notice that there are only four holes and most have five. Something to think about when looking for a ride plate. :cool:

gee, mine's only had 4 for 20 years and never come loose unless i was taking it off.... hope that's not a problem either :jawdrop:

I never said it was a problem, I said be aware that yours is four and not five hole when out looking for a ride plate! It would sure suck if he buys a five hole one,and then have to drill four new holes into it. :idea:
