It is not just for show, some boats react very well to these.
Do these things point up or down like a droop when installed?

The Rooster Booster has 8* built into it. Not much help for all out top speed on most boats, but some huge tails!!! Doug

They go up! If go down, wear your mask/air tank!

It keeps the thrust angle at 3 degrees up in relation to the keel with the nozzle at 0 degrees in relation to pin on the Place Diverter/ Rooster Booster. This setup keeps the thrust angle at a consistent 3 degrees up under heavy acceleration.
Pin angle from keel line:
Bowl angle -4 degrees
Rooster Booster +7 degrees
Place Diverter 0 degrees
Equals +3 degrees

BAE 557, Sorry, but I don't understand the old set-up from the new. Also, the Rooser Booster is claimed to have +8*. this would mean;
The current set-up=
Keel 0
Bowl/Intake -4
RoosterBooster +8
Nozzle 0
Total +4 up
How come so much difference from the old to new. It looks like you had the intake set the same and keel work or not?, a -4* wedge at the snoot, a +7* off of the snoot, nozzle at 0. This equals -1? I apologize if I'm wrong, but you lost me somewhere.....????? :hammerhea Doug

I changed out the Droop Snoot for the Rooster Booster and removed the wedge. The Droop Snoot configuration as shown was an early setup for testing purposes only.
For some reason my R/B does measure in at 7 degrees and not 8 degrees.

BAE 557, Cool! I'm just learning some of the set-ups for the larger hp rigs......Doug

so, just to clarify, you're running your deal with 3 degrees up nozzle?

I remember seeing a number of BFJets running them. They don't need the droop since, at the speeds they were runing, the last thing they need is lift in the rear. Most are runing tapered shoes to help keep the boat planted. The RB helps get the nozzle angle to a working position, then it can be tuned with the PD. It also acts as an extension of the bowl, which helps the water straighten out before going through the nozzle. :coffeycup

you might have a 5 degree intake in your mach 1 or they could have set it in a 1 degree down, Jim

I ran at 3 degrees up with the previous setup, I found that to be the optimal setting for that configuration. With all the changes that have taken place during the winter months (pump, keel, engine), the test and tune process will have to begin all over again.

Sure Brent sounds good. Have you seen the thread about Labor Day at Blue Lake? Blue Lake should be a good turn out. I also started one for Moses Lake at the end of June.
PS, Am I allowed to Highjack my own thread?

I looked at it.......Decided to go with a wedge and one of HTP.'s snoots for less drag.....should be a great combo.
