So what's the deal with Cerne Marine or Tri Star Marine? Did they make a decent boat?

I have never heard of them. Be careful and inspect the hull throughly to make sure it's sound. Might make someone a cheap CP. but remember, it's only a project at it's start, and it will never be a true CP or Earl Smith gullwing. Just my 2 cents. Budlight

The hull is a CP splash. I did a digital overlay with that and an Earl Smith. The bottom profiles are identical. It was made by Allsport Marine in 11/80, Lou Cerne supposedly made the mold. CRJ has had many different names, and after talking with Lou and Tom Carelli, this couldn't have set the world on fire, because neither really remember this hull specifically. To see what their main market is, check out Euroline or Sierra Boats.

I would love the silent treatment. Luckily, I bid on e-bay with a secret identity. Roost, I had an e-mail in to the guy to go look at it today or tomorrow. If you want I can take a look at it for you. I can get some pix of anything you want or any problem spots. A CP is the closest thing I would get to a family cruiser at this point in my life, but you can have it. How many boats does one guy need? I only have one truck.

I didn't mean to start up the Hatfield & McCoy feud all over again. Roost will it be painted to match the "Circus" boat?

If I get this, it'll be kept with the original gel (it's just my style). I have pics of it before it was listed on Ebay, so I think I'm good on that. I appreciate the support from everyone on this. It's not a done deal by any means... I can't spend big bucks on this project, so I can be outbid.
The circus boat is fixed, and will be at FC3 (hopefully) running on all 8 cylinders. At least I don't have to worry about the pump!

not that hard to believe. I bid $1.00 on a set of carquest valve cover gaskets unopened tht would have been $3.88 for shipping. Someone paid $18.00 for a set of gaskets that you get at carquest for 9. E-bay makes people crazy. I bid to win and sometimes get out of hand but am usually out bid on auctions where I realize I have gone too high.
