My brand new headers, first time out got splashed with beer (alcohol abuse) when he slipped from the seat in a hard banking turn. It left brownish streaks and spots and I was wondering what is a good way to remove them, if possible? Or is it a permanent characteristic thing?
Oh yeah, they were hot when splashed.

Good luck. I had some pretty mean stains on my Eliminator with OT's. Skin, beer, and the worst one was vomit! Nothing really got it off.

Go to the local Harley shop and buy some Blue Away. I am pretty sure that is what it is called. Just ask for the stuff to take blue out of drag pipes. It will work.

Infomaniac, I tried some stuff called "Blue Job" from my local HD dealer and it did not work. Works OK on the bikes, but didn't do much for the boat. Is "Blue Away" something different?

I think wetdream is right about the character thing. Sorry to break it to you, OT headers will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER stay new, it just doesnt happen. If anything, powdercoat those babys!!

Blue Away worked good on my zoomies. It took out the blue and some unknown stains. Worth a try. I would expect it to be similar but it was not called Blue Job.

This is blue job but you have to rub really really hard to make it work.
I have heard of blue away and I would look into that. I know harley guys use something like that.

Ya puked on your pipes? I feel sorry for the person sitting in the seat between you and your headers. Next time slow down a litte bit before ya chuck all over. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif I'm getting a funny mental image right now.

Superdave, Not me man! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif My stupid friend puked on 'em at speed. We leave the dock of my buddies house in Bullhead for a run up to the dam. My other stupid friend decides that there is not enough room in a 19' Eliminator for a lot beer, so he decides to beer bong about 12 beers. We jump in the boat and haul balls upriver. Get about a mile, and hit a few rollers and then, I heard the rrrrrrraaaaaaalllllpppppphhhh! I look back and he puked all over my engine. Luckily, it polished off all the aluminum, but I wasn't so lucky with the headers, it burned on. That numbnuts now rides on someone elses boat. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif

If I were you, I would wait until the headers are nice and hot, then pee on them, see how that works. ; )
