I took my 1987 Lavey back to Lavecraft in Corona and they brought it back from chalk-grey to gloss-black. It was amazing. They charged me about $600 to color sand, polish, and wax the boat. This was several years ago but I can tell you that they treated me like I just bought a $50k boat off the showroom floor. Service was great. Give them a call.

If the boat is in Havasu, call Scott (Ducky from the boards)
FAST Fiberglass and Marine (Ducky, aka Scott)
928-854-4527
928-486-9115
Your boat is stored in a secure area while the work is being done, he has fast turnaround, and great prices.

If your boat is yellowed and dulled it may not need to be sanded at all. Washing it down with acid may actually bring the color back to it. It's hard to say exactly what it need without seeing it in person.
In the even that your boat does need to be color sanded you can expect to pay hourly for the work. I havent done much color sanding myself but the last time I had my car color sanded it cost me $70 an hour. I would think that realisticaly it shouldn't cost you more then $600-$700 to get your boat color sanded and waxed.

Depends on the condition of your gel coat, if you still have clear it can be color sanded, if you are down to the resin, just give it a good acid wash then follow up with a coat of lemon oil it will look like glass, and you can do that yourself and save $700 bucks.

1500 grit compound and a good buffing wheel. After that wax and detail spray. I use mequires. A couple of cold beers, a cigar and some quality time with my baby. Pride of ownership. I've got alot of red on my boat so, she needs alot of cleanin. I like keeping her looking good.
