Okay, I know quite a few of you here who don;t visit RRX site so thought I would brag here also...
Took my 5 year old up to Snow Summit with my wife and niece. The snow sucked major ass with the hot weather we had over the last week but the whole mountian was still open and it was our daughter's first time on a snowboard.
I was wondering how well she would do being that she is really quick at learning new skills, and was pleasantly surprised. After two runs (walking up the bunny hill 100 feet) she was coming down on her own. Almost pooped my pants I was so surprised.
When her lesson started in the afternoon, she was the only girl in the snowboard class and I told her she would have to show all those boys up. She did. By the end of the hour and a half class, she was coming down the bunny hill from the top of the lift all by herself. Pretty much straight down with no fear.
Can you tell I'm proud? Being that she is 5, I just may have a snowboard partner by the time she is 7-8.
On one of my runs, the snow was sticking so badly towards the bottom of the run, I turned to slow down, hit a bank of slush which threw my forward right on my face. Thought I broke my nose and lost some teeth the pain was so bad. Got snow burn above my lips and on my nose.
Good times!!

thanks. If the wife will ever let that one happen. Her being intimidated by the boat doesn't help out my daughter's perception of it.
Guess I should buy a pontoon also. Any givers?

If she's with other kids on a mild quiet boat,,what usually happens is they study the other kids for awhile, perhaps even a year or two, then they jump in and try when they get accustomed to the situation.

That is totally cool Loco!! I can wakeboard but couldn't get the hang of snowboarding (I think I was to fat to keep picking myself up :D ) Great looking crew you have there.

the key is to start at the top of the mountain, not at the bunny hill.
Being an adult (even a teenager) I think the best way to learn is at the top of the mountain. The bunny hill doesn;t give ou enough room/speed to get the groove. If you wakeboard, you should get this in no time.

Hey I'm only a little over a teenager, too bad I'm afraid of the cold or I'd be perfect for the hottie niece. Bring her out to the river
Congrats Madison! You're already better than me at snowboarding :)

Enjoy their youth while ya can.
Seems like they're 18 in about a month.
