I maybe speaking out of turn here.....but your not saying if you made any ride plate adjustments or if you got five people in the boat.....with full gear......or maybe a 110 degree day when really nothing runs like it should......maybe the test was done in ideal conditions.....just a thought....to many variables, good luck

Something doesn't add up. A gain of 300 rpm should give you much more than 3 mph on top speed. How are you checking your speed? Marine speedo's are notoriously inaccurate. GPS is a much better way to measure speed. In any case, an increase of 300 rpm should give somewhere around a 10 mph increase, in my experience.

Where did you guy your Ultra? We did very few barracuda pumps at the factory. Marine Power was pushing these pumps real big back in 2000. I was not impressed with the performance out of them. Either way your boat should do about 55 mph at 4600rpm. I need to know how many people were in the boat, how much gas was in it, what elevation were you at, what was the air temperature, was the boat full of gear, etc. Also, yes there is hook in the 2000 21xt, if your intention is to get more speed, this issue must be addressed. Does the boat have a set back pump with a ride plate and shoe? Does the boat have a loader grate? Does the boat have a place diverter?
