Optima vs. Standard Marine batt.

If you are running a two battery system do you actually have to have both batteries be Optima or is that just "factory recommended"? I've got a standard marine battery already on my boat and I wanted to add another. Just wanted to add an optima to the other.

I run four batterys three for the stereo and one for the boat. and even then it doesnt last all day.

Are all four batteries the same or is the 1 starter battery different? I have 3 blue top optimas for the stereo on #2 Perko and an Everstart deep cycle for starting. Is that okay when charging in 'both' position? I know that playing in the both position will drain the everstart, and I don't plan on that but what about charging?

Soundsgood It does not matter what kind of batterys you have they can all be charged at the same time.
