This was taken three boat engines, two boat paint jobs, and about 100K Maxima kms ago. It's still the basic rig I run, though.

That's what I was just thinking. That's a bad ass set up TB!!!
It's no DCB but I've had a lot of fun with it.
Here are a couple of pics from Lake Okanagan last year. I needed a rub rail and found one in Kelowna so I towed out there. My plan was to install it in a buddy's driveway but it was more work than I anticipated so I just installed the bow segment and brought the rest of the matierials home. I wish I could find a picture of the completed boat but I must not have taken any. I didn't do much boating after the Kelowna trip.
This little 16' boat with a 10" pad really handled the Okanagan chop beautifully. http://www2.***boat.com/ubb/icons/icon14.gif :D :D :D :D :D
By the way, that's a Merc 260 under that old style 2.4l BP cowl.

LMAO about PCB. We go over there for the waterpark and movies on rainy days. Destin is waaaaay too crowded. Our condos are in Sea Crest next door to Rosemary Beach. We love it. No red necks and for now not too crowded. Here's where our place it www.highpointeresort.com

Tom,
How does that boat run with the 2.5? When I was a kid, our family friend had a 16 with a 115 Merc and that was one of the funnest boats I have ever been in riding in chop....re-entry from jumping around was not bad at all...and his boat ran around 50 with a 115 so I am thinking yours must be flat hauling...sweet boat.

I think it would be fair to say that it's an exciting boat. :D
It's not a boat that you can peg the throttle and just leave it there. The fastest I've had it up to is 96 and there was plenty of foot feed left. It doesn't take a long time to get there, either.
There's no question it's too much power for the boat and if I leave this setup together for very long, it will get me into trouble.
My plan is to go to a Carlson event this summer, nail up a triple digit speed, and then switch to a 200 EFI powerhead. That should still propel the boat well to around 80 which is much faster than the hull can safely handle.
